DAGGERS NEXT UP FOR REDS
Crawley Town's search for their first away Conference win under John Hollins moves on to Dagenham tomorrow night after a late goal denied the Red Devils a point at Hereford on Saturday.

After falling behind early to an Andy Williams goal, Crawley gave a good account of themselves at Edgar Street and got back on level terms after 63 minutes with a superb long-distance striker by midfielder Danny Brown.

But they could not get their noses in front and a valuable point slipped away when Guy Ipoua headed home two minutes from time.

Crawley now turn their attention to Dagenham, who have been something of a bogey team for the Red Devils in recent seasons.

The teams shared a 0-0 draw in the first home league game at the Broadfield Stadium in August, but late goals have been costly for Crawley in previous meetings. A Chris Moore goal after 83 minutes gave Dagenham a 1-0 league win on the Red Devils' last visit to Victoria Road last March, with Dagenham also having knocked Crawley out of the FA Cup in the fourth qualifying round in Essex the previous October. The Reds won their first home Conference game against Dagenham 2-0 with goals by Charlie MacDonald and Ryan Palmer.

The teams also locked horns in the 2003-4 FA Trophy, when they drew 0-0 in Essex, but the Daggers won a replay 2-1 in Sussex. In the previous season, a Mark Janney goal two minutes from time knocked Crawley out of the FA Cup, again by a 2-1 scoreline. The Reds had been reduced to ten men at that stage after defender Ellis Hooper was sent off.

Result: Saturday 21 January (Nationwide Conference)

Crawley Town 1 (Brown 63)
Att: 2,782
Crawley Town: Smith, Judge, Brown, Simpemba, Mendy, Opinel, Blackburn, Brown, Armstrong (Ekoku 88), Scully, Giles, Burton.
Unused subs: Ward, Jenkins, Woozley, Whitman.
