KEEHAN MOVES ON
Crawley Town midfielder Joe Keehan has left the club to join Conference South side Eastbourne Borough on a free transfer.

Keehan, who progressed to the first-team squad at Broadfield Stadium after impressing for the club's youth and reserve teams, made four Conference appearances for the Red Devils, the first as a substitute at Halifax in January 2005.

He made one league start for Crawley, at Cambridge United in October under player caretaker-manager Simon Wormull, but has found his first-team chances limited.

Keehan has been on loan at Eastbourne for the last month, and scored twice in Borough's recent win over Lewes.

Crawley boss John Hollins said: “Joe is a young lad and unfortunately for him we have strong competition in our midfield, so we took the decision to allow him to move to Eastbourne Borough.

“It wasn't an easy decision to allow Joe to leave but at this stage in his young career, Joe needs football to develop his game and Eastbourne can offer him regular first-team football, which is something we could not offer here.

“Joe is a good lad and is joining a good club and I'm sure he will do very well down there.

“I would like to wish Joe all the best at Eastbourne and hope to see him back playing in the Conference soon.”
