HOLDERS ONE STEP FROM ANOTHER FINAL
Crawley's bid to win the Sussex Senior Cup for the third time in four seasons reaches a crucial stage on Wednesday when the Red Devils play Ryman League Division One neighbours Horsham in the semi-final at Worthing's Woodside Road ground.

The holders have made smooth progress to the last four, beating Sussex League Whitehawk 7-0 and Conference South duo Eastbourne Borough and Bognor Regis 2-0 and 3-2 respectively, but they can expect a tough challenge from the Hornets, who are managed by former Red Devils goalkeeper, manager and chief executive John Maggs.

Horsham won 3-0 at Banstead on Saturday to stay on course for promotion – they are currently second in the table, three points behind leaders Ramsgate but with a game in hand.

Four former Reds were in the Horsham 16 for Saturday's win – defender Ian Payne and winger Nigel Brake were both members of Crawley's 2003-04 Southern League treble-winning squad, while midfielder Mark Hawthorne and striker Jamie Taylor have also played for the Red Devils. Kick-off at Worthing is at 7.20pm.

ROVERS NEXT LEAGUE TEST FOR CRAWLEY
Crawley's climb away from the relegation zone will hopefully bring an improved attendance for Saturday's vital fixture against Forest Green.

Rovers, who were managed by Reds assistant boss Alan Lewer for much of last season, are just one place and two points above Crawley in the table after losing 2-1 at home to bottom side Southport on Saturday, and the Sussex side therefore know that another home win would lift them a further place up the table.

Kick-off at the Broadfield Stadium is at 3pm. This match was moved forward from it's scheduled date of Tuesday 21 March as both clubs' original opponents are involved in the FA Trophy semi-finals on Saturday.
