CHAS MAJEED
Crawley Town Football Club would like to take this opportunity to clarify once again the current position of Chas Majeed.

The issue raised recently in the local media regarding bankruptcy is simply an administrative issue of updating records. Crawley Town Football Club has been in constant liaison with the Conference and the FA and both representations are aware of Chas' role as chairman.

Following the recent reports in the media, the Conference has confirmed that the club will NOT be suspended from the league, nor will any actions be pursued.

Chas Majeed is frustrated and disappointed with the media's continuous speculation on this matter. His priority is to focus on the team and football issues, as opposed to dealing with such turbulent accusations. He is on the same side as the fans and wants to make this club a success.

CLARE LEAVES CRAWLEY
Crawley Football Club regrets to announce the departure from the club of striker Daryl Clare.

Clare, twice the Conference golden boot winner with Boston United and Chester City, joined the Red Devils for a club record fee from Boston in September and scored on his debut in the televised 3-2 defeat at Aldershot.

He went on to score 11 goals in 25 Conference matches and one LDV Trophy game for Crawley, including both goals in last month's 2-0 home win over Altrincham.

Clare was able to leave by giving 14 days' notice due to the club's current financial situation. He is not expected to play for the club again.

Chairman Chas Majeed has apologised to fans for saying during Monday's fans forum that he expected Clare to stay with the club.

At the time, the club's management team were under the belief that Daryl would continue to support the Reds for the remainder of the season. However, due to personal family reasons Daryl has indicated he would prefer to continue his career nearer to his home in Lincolnshire. Daryl handed in his notice on Wednesday.

The club would like to thank Daryl for his commitment and efforts in his time at Crawley and wish him the best of luck with his future career.

YOUNG LIONS ARRIVE AT CRAWLEY
Crawley Town have signed a trio of young players from Championship side Millwall on work experience to boost the squad at Broadfield Stadium.

Right-back Jack McLeod, 17, central defender Michael Bostwick, 17, and 19-year-old Dean Pooley, who can operate in central defence or midfield, have all signed Conference forms and are eligible to play in tomorrow's Conference game at home to Scarborough (3pm kick-off).

Only Pooley, who was an unused substitute in Millwall's FA Cup third-round tie against Everton in January, has a squad number at the New Den, but all three players have been regular members of Alan McLeary's successful young reserve side, and were in the Lions squad that beat Crawley's second string 2-1 last Wednesday (March 1).
