TRUST INVESTIGATES OWNERSHIP OPTIONS
The newly-formed Devils Trust have revealed that they are investigating all options for the future of the crisis-hit club – including a bid to buy the Red Devils themselves.

With Crawley Town's future in doubt under the trouble-torn reign of the Majeed brothers, the trust believe that the most secure future for the club when it emerges from its present period of financial administration is for the fans to be involved in its running at some level.

A trust spokesman said: “Since the formation of the Devils Trust the response from individual supporters and companies who are prepared to back us has been quite inspirational. We wish to thank everyone who has supported the Trust - that includes financial supporters and also those who contribute through their time and commitment.

“The impressive level of anticipated funding has also opened up a few opportunities that we are currently investigating.

”By now everyone who has any understanding of the current situation at Crawley Town FC will be aware that there is no real future for the club under the present ownership.

“As a Supporters Trust our major concern is that the club is in safe hands and the best way to achieve that is by the Trust having a say about how the club is run. We need to be ready to respond to whatever situation is the outcome of the administration process.

”Consequently - in conjunction with Malcolm Fillmore - we are looking at the logistics of our own bid, but this does not rule out the options that already exist to be a minority consortium partner.

“We will support whatever option is best in the long- term interest of the club - obviously that is a future with no involvement by the Majeeds - and the entire Trust membership will be consulted before any crucial decision is made.”

In addition to inviting membership applications – the trust are appealing for further donations to help them achieve their aim of securing the club's future and to create more ownership options.

All donations will be gratefully received. Details of how to donate (online, by post or at banks) are available on the trust website at www.thedevilstrust.org.uk . Please email thedevilstrust@aol.com or write to: The Devils Trust, PO Box 974, Crawley, RH11 6WX for more details.
