REDS DRAW WITH HORNCHURCH
Crawley drew their friendly with Conference South side Hornchurch 0-0 this afternoon. With the big spending visitors fielding a full strength side it was the kind of test the Reds needed after big scoring victories against Horsham, Folkestone and Hampton & Richmond. Goal attempts were limited, although the visitors did find the net twice. Both attempts were ruled out due to an offside flag.

MAPES GRABS ANOTHER BRACE
Charlie Mapes scored twice for the second time in a week as Crawley beat Hampton & Richmond 4-1 last night. Mapes started off the scoring early in the second half before Darragh Ryan made it 2-0. Allan Tait then scored Crawley's third before Mapes grabbed the fourth. The hosts then scored their consolation goal from the penalty spot with about 10 minutes of the game left.

YOUTHS HIT EIGHT AT LINGFIELD
The Youth side beat Lingfield Youth 8-1 on Wednesday evening. Goals from Ryan Every, Tom Rhodes (3), Tom Lawley and Kelvin Quaye (3) secured the Reds victory.
JOFF OFF TO SUTTON
Joff Vansittart became the latest member of last seasons squad to say farewell to the Broadfield Stadium on Tuesday when he signed for Conference South side Sutton United for a four-figure fee. Vansittart returns to Gander Green Lane, having played their following his first spell at Crawley.
TICKET DETAILS FOR HEREFORD AND ALDERSHOT GAMES
Ticket details have been released for the Reds first two home fixtures against Hereford United (17th August) and Aldershot Town (21st August). The matches are not all ticket for home fans, although supporters will be able to purchase tickets in advance. Tickets go on sale from next Wednesday, 4th August.

GOALKEEPER SMITH SIGNS
Goalkeeper Phil Smith has signed a one-year contract with the Reds after completing his mve from Kent side Margate. Smith made his Crawley debut in the friendly against Brighton & Hove Albion where he put in an impressive display. His previous clubs include Millwall, Ashford and Dover, before he moved to Margate in July 2002.
PAYNE AND BRAKE RELEASED
Local lads Ian Payne and Nigel Brake have both been released by the Reds following their promotion to the Conference. Payne, who was the club’s current long-serving player having made over 325 appearances in his seven years for the club, has since signed a 2-year deal with Worthing.
Brake has yet to find himself a club, although he has since played in friendlies for both Worthing and Sutton United.
EXTRA FRIENDLY FOR REDS
Carshalton Athletic, managed by ex-Reds boss Billy Smith, have been added to the list of Crawley's pre-season friendlies. The Reds make the short to Carshalton Athletic on Thursday 5 August.

MAPES TO THE DOUBLE
A brace from Charlie Mapes, coupled with goals from Mo Harkin and Loui Fazakerley gave a makeshift Crawley side a comfortable victory over neighbours Horsham on Thursday (22nd July) evening. Mapes grabbed the first before Harkin converted a penalty given after Robert Kember was fouled on the edge of the penalty area. Mapes then made it 3-0 just before half time, with Fazakerley adding the fourth after 56 minutes.

REDS BEAT LEWES
A goal from trialist Loui Fazakerley and a brace from Mo Harkin was enough to secure the Reds second win of their pre-season campaign, when they beat Lewes 3-2 on Tuesday (20th July) evening. Francis Vines continued his policy of using multipe substitutions as he looks to finalise his squad, with a total of 24 players used over the course of the match.
YOUTHS LOSE TO WORTHING
The Youth team lost their first friendly on Monday (19th July). Liam Buchan scored Crawley's goal as they lost to their hosts 2-1.

REDS BEATEN BY BRIGHTON
Crawley lost their first home friendly against Coca-Cola side Brighton & Hove Albion yesterday. Albion trialist Maheta Molango bagged a brace for the visitors before Leon Knight completed the scoring. Crawley saw a total of 21 players feature in the game as manager Francis Vines uses the friendlies to full effect as he looks to put the finishing touches to his squad.

SIMPEMBA SIGNS
Crawley have signed Ian Simpemba for an undisclosed fee from Coca-Cola side Wycombe Wanderers. Simpemba turned down a new contract offer from Wycombe to join the Reds. The deal also has a sell-on clause included with The Chairboys receiving 30% of any future transfer fee Crawley receive for him. Simpemba will go straight in to the squad to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

REDS WIN FIRST FRIENDLY
Goals from Danny Marney and Neil Jenkins gave Crawley a 2-0 win over Horley Town in their first friendly. The goals were late arriving, with Marney's effort coming from the penalty spot before Jenkins doubled the scoreline 5 minutes from the end of the game.
GREGORY OFF TO THE BORO
Justin Gregory, the current CTFC.net player of the season, has been sold by Crawley to Stevenage Borough. Gregory rejoins the side he left to rejoin the Reds only 12 months ago on a free transfer for a four figure fee.
