COUNTY SNATCH LATE WINNER
A goal by Ashley Williams in the third minute of added time gave Newport County all three points at the Broadfield Stadium tonight. REDS WIN AT BORO
Crawley extended their winning run when they beat Nuneaton Borough 1-0 at Manor Park this afternoon in the Dr Martens League Premier Division. Robert Traynor grabbed the Reds only goal after 56 minutes when he fired in to the roof of the Nuneaton net from 8 yards out.
Chances for both sides were few and far between throughout the game, with Gez Murphy having the best chance for the home side shortly before half time when his shot was blocked by Ben Judge. For Crawley Joff Vansittart, on as a second half sub, had a glorious chance to increase Crawley's lead 12 minutes from time, however he headed over from close range.
The win sees Crawley's lead at the top of the league increase to 13 points over Weymouth, after Weymouth only drew at home with Chelmsford.

Marc Pullan gave the Reds an early lead, scoring in the second minutes from close range. Charlie MacDonald then made it 2-0 after 24 minutes when he fired home a cross from Robert Traynor after Traynor had produced some good work down the right flank.
Anthony Riviere hit the post for the home side 6 minutes from time, but it was Traynor who completed the scoring. His header 3 minutes from time from a Peter Fear free-kick secured the win Crawley needed. A tense few moments passed whilst the score from the Weymouth / Tiverton game was confirmed. Once the news of thier draw reached Park View Road the Reds knew that the title was theirs and jubilant scenes followed.

REDS EDGE CLOSER
Crawley moved to within 4 points of the Dr Martins League Premier Division title after beating Dover Athletic 2-0 at the Broadfield Stadium today, whilst nearest rivals Weymouth lost 4-1 at Havant & Waterlooville.
Charlie MacDonald set Crawley on their way when he turned inside a defender and fired home inside the opening minute. The Reds were then defended deep for long periods of the first half with Dover seeing plenty of possession. Crawley opportunities were limited. Danny Marney fired into the side netting after 24 minutes, whilst Ben Judge saw a speculative effort from 35 yards out drift just over the crossbar in first half injury time.
The second goal for the Reds came on 53 minutes courtesy of Joff Vansittart. MacDonald had an effort blocked by Dave Wietecha in the Dover goal. The rebound fell to Vansittart who found the net from a tight angle. MacDonald nearly got another for Crawley after 72 minutes, but his header from 6 yards out fell the wrong side of the post.
The Reds now go in to the Easter Monday match at Welling United knowing that a positive result there, coupled with a favourable result at the Wessex Stadium (where Weymouth play host to Tiverton Town) would see the league title whisk it's way to the Broadfield Stadium.

REDS TAKE DMC 1ST LEG LEAD
Despite winning the 1st Leg of the Dr Martens League Cup final against Moor Green 2-1 at the Moorlands on Tuesday evening Crawley will be wondering how the lead is not greater. Francis Vines made six changes from the side who played at Worcester eight days ago in the league, but it was a decision that was justified as the result at the end showed.
It was the home side however who took the lead after 44 minutes, against the run of play, when Joe Martin headed home. The lead did not last long though as Danny Marney levelled for Crawley from 18 yards out in first half injury time.
Allan Tait scored Crawley's second on 62 minutes. A neat one two with Marney set Tait up nicely to fire home. Tait was unlucky not to have scored earlier, when he had a header cleared off the line shortly before Moor Green took the lead. He also had another effort cleared off the line on 76 minutes during a sustained period of pressure from the Reds.
Crawley must now be favourites for the cup going in to the return leg at the Broadfield Stadium, scheduled for Tuesday 20th April, kick-off 7.45pm, in a good position, as they look to retain the trophy they won last season.

YOUTH TEAM DRAW WITH YMCA
The Youth team drew 1-1 with Horsham YMCA this evening in the Southern Youth League. The visitors took the lead after 35 minutes when a defensive misunderstanding between Mark Fox and Mark Dixon 25 yards out saw the ball run free for Tim Martin to score.
Crawley equalised after 80 minutes through Georgie Smith. His first shot from close range was blocked by the keeper on the line but he managed to knock home the rebound. The Reds ended the game with only 10 men after Mark Dixon was shown his second yellow card of the night after 84 minutes.

Traynor, who had been on loan from Brentford, left the West London side on Friday, in turn ending his loan spell. Although the transfer deadline closed on March 31st his signing has been cleared by the league as it represents a continuation of an existing registration, on a permanent rather than a temporary basis.
