UNNAMED STRIKERS TARGETED
Crawley have made a substantial offer for an unnamed striker following the return to Wycombe of Gavin Holligan and Jonn Dixon. It had been hoped their loans could have been extended but Tony Admas rejected Crawley's request. In addition the club have made a seven day approach for another forward. Vines said, "At this stage we cannot name our two targets as we obviously have to follow the strict guidelines laid down by the FA, we do however hope to provide further news in the next seven days.”

HOLLIGAN BRACE TAKES THE BISCUIT
A brace from on loan striker Gavin Holligan helped Crawley secure a 4-2 win over the Gingerbread men from Grantham this afternoon. Holligan set Crawley on their way after 15 minutes when he hit a low drive past Mario Ziccardi from 20 yards out. Charlie MacDonald then made it 2-0 from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time after he was felled by Tim Wooding.
Grantham pulled one back on 55 minutes through Kevin Wilkin before Holligan restored the 2 goal advantage after 70 minutes. Some lacklustre defending by the visitors allowed MacDonald and Holligan to both beat the offside trap. MacDonald, with just the keeper to beat, laid off a square ball for Holligan to tap home. A superb cross from Sean Hankin allowed Paul Armstrong to score the Reds fourth 10 minutes later.
With Grantham clearly rattled Jamie Kearns committed a clumsy foul on Mo Harkin 2 minutes later to receive his second yellow card of the match. Down to 10 men Grantham scored their second with 4 minutes remaining courtesy of Adrian Speed.

LATE STRIKE EARNS DRAW
A late strke from Charlie MacDonald earnt Crawley a draw at home to Moor Green today. Moor Green had the better of the first half and went in at the interval two goals ahead. Jea Martin put them ahead on 15 minutes after he turned inside Sean Hankin before beating Paul Borg at the near post. Neil Davis' 20 yards effort made it 2-0 on 44 minutes.
Paul Armstrong scored Crawley's first on 69 minutes. Finding himself in space on the edge of the Moor Green penalty area he drilled his shot low past Adam Rachel in the Moor's goal. MacDonald then levelled the scores with 2 minutes of normal time remaining to earn the Reds a vital point.
With Weymouth beating Hednesford at the Wessex Stadium today the gap between 1st and 2nd increased to 5 points.

REDS OUT AFTER REPLAY
Crawley lost their FA Trophy 3rd replay against Dagenham & Redbridge tonight 2-1 after extra time. Ben Judge gave Crawley the lead after 20 minutes heading home from close range after Carl Wilson-Denis headed on a Robert Smith free-kick. Just before the interval Charlie MacDonald put Paul Armstrong through only for Armstrong to hit the outside of the post.
The visitors put Crawley under constant pressure during the second half. Mark Janney almost drew the Daggers level on 53 minutes when his effort from the right byline nearly caught Andy Little off his line. Little, back peddling, managed to turn the ball away.
Richard Pacquette eventually grabbed the equaliser after 72 minutes, heading home a Leon Braithwaite cross from 12 yards out to send the match in to extra time.
Dagenham were reduced to 10 men early in to extra time. Tim Cole fouled Charlie MacDonald just outside the visitors penalty area. After consulting with his Assistant the Referee gave Cole his marching orders.
With Crawley unable to capitalise on the man advantage Mark Bentley headed home the winner for Dagenham with just over 10 minutes of extra time remaining to set up a home tie against Arlesey Town in the 4th Round.

RESERVES BEAT CHAMPS
The Reserve side beat the current Premier Division champions 1-0 at the Broadfield Stadium today. Georgie Smith scored Crawley's goal after 88 minutes. The win sees Crawley move up to 5th in the league, 11 points behind leaders Sutton having played 3 games lesss.
DAGGERS DRAWN FOR THE REDS
Crawley will have to win the replay if they are to progress in the FA Trophy after a goalless draw at Victoria Road today. It was a spirited display from a Crawley side that is currently plagued by injuries.
Justin Gregory had Crawley's first effort. His low drive was saved by Danny Naisbitt in the Dagenham goal. Chris Piper had a good opportunity to put the hosts ahead on 19 minutes but shot wide. Kevin Hemsley came close soon after but saw his shot blocked by Naisbitt's feet.
Steve Watts forced Andy Little into a good save after 28 mintues. Little knocked Watts' header on to the post before it was cleared. The Daggers did have the ball in the Crawley goal just before the interval through Piper, however it was ruled out for offside.
Richard Pacquette had a couple of noticable chances to win the game for Dagenham in the second half, the first was a header from close range that sailed over, before he had a low header go across the face of the goal and wide late on.

REDS LOSE AS LITTLE OFF AGAIN
Andy Little was sent of for the second match in succession on Tuesday night when Crawley travelled to Grantham Town in the Dr Martens Premier League. Going in to the game on the back of Saturdays win at Weymouth the Reds knew a win would put them level on points with the league leaders. However it was not to be, with Little sent off during the seond half after handling outside the area.
After his exploits on Saturday 5ft 7ins defender Ian Payne again donned the goalkeeping gloves. Unfortunately he was not able to keep a cleansheet for his efforts this time around and Grantham grabbed a solitary goal after 86 minutes, courtesy of Jamie Kearns, to seal the victory.
Crawley remain in second spot, just 3 points behind leaders Weymouth. Both sides have played 23 games.

RESERVES DRAW AT HOME
The Reserve side drew 1-1 at home to Brook House on Saturday (3rd Jan) in the Suburban League Premier Division. John White gave Crawley the lead after 48 minutes. Danny Murphy equalised for the visitors soon after. Crawley are 6th in the league, 14 points behind the leaders having played 4 games less.
LITTLE OFF AS REDS WIN
Reds goalkeeper Andy Little was sent off in the 1-0 win at Weymouth today after bringing down Muff forward Lee Phillips in the Reds area. With Little being shown a red card up stepped left back Ian Payne to take over in goal. Payne's first job was to save a Steve Claridge penalty and what a great sight that was too. Earlier Gavin Holligan had sent the Reds on their way to a vital victory, heading home a Justin Gregory cross after 31 minutes.
With just 10 men on the pitch for the last 30 minutes the play remained predominantly in the Crawley half of the pitch, however the home side could not penetrate a resolute defense. Crawley did manage a few counter attacks as Weymouth played high up the pitch but efforts from Charlie MacDonald, Gavin Holligan and Carl Wilson-Denis were never a real threat to Jason Matthews in the Weymouth goal.

VINES SIGNS VINES
Francis Vines has signed his nephew Joe Vines from Ryman League side Bromley. Vines, a central defender, joined Bromley at the beginning of last season and went on to win the Club, Supporter's and Player's Player of the Year awards at the end of last season. He goes straight in to the squad for the trip to Weymouth, replacing Karl Ready. Ready picked up an ankle injury in the New Year's Day clash against Welling United.
Ready joins Joff Vansittart, Nigel Brake and Jay Richardson on the injury list, however Mo Harkin has recovered from his ankle injury and returns to the squad for the trip to the Wessex Stadium.

NO GOALS AT THE BROADFIELD
A Bank Holiday crowd of 1640 saw a rather uneventful encounter against Welling United today that saw the match end 0-0. Chances were limited for both sides and the result could have been so different had appeals for a penalty after Charlie MacDonald appeared to be brough down in the Welling area after 59 minutes.
With Crawley appealing the visitors mounted a quick counter-attack. Phil Collins received the ball and with only Little to beat miskicked his shot and the ball drifted wide. Crawley had a couple of shots in the closing stages, with Justin Gregory's effort from about 6 yards out probably the best opportunity. His effort was blocked and cleared to safety.
