REDS BACK UP TO 2nd
Crawley won for the second time in 11 days at Havant & Waterlooville this afternoon, with the latest win seeing them revert back to 2nd place in the Dr Martens League Premier Division. Charlie MacDonald scored from the penalty spot, after 6 minutes, having been felled himself by Dan Turner, to set Crawley on their way.

Gavin Holligan, on loan from Wycombe Wanderers, made it 2-0 on 46 minutes when he headed home a cross from Justin Gregory. Holligan then set up Peter Fear to score on 58 minutes, making it 3-0. David Leworthy pulled one back for the home side before they had Gareth Howells sent off in the last minute for retaliation.

BRAKE OUT FOR SEASON
Following a scan yesterday Nigel Brake has been told that he will be out of action until at least the end of the season after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament. Brake is due to have surgery on 8th January when the full extent of the damage will be established.

 
WANDERERS IN ON LOAN
Crawley have secured the service of two Wycombe Wanderers forwards for an initial one month loan period. Gavin Holligan and Jonny Dixon will go straight into the squad for the trip to Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday.

Striker Holligan, 23, signed for Wanderers from West Ham in the summer of 2001, where he had spent one season following his arrival from Kingstonian. Dixon, 19, has progressed through the ranks at the Causeway Stadium and is happy playing either through the middle of the park or in wide positions.

REDS SEE OFF BATH
An injury hit Crawley side climbed to second place in the Dr Martens League Premier Division today after beating bottom side Bath City 2-0. Charlie MacDonald gave Crawley the lead after 40 minutes, converting a penalty awarded after he was fouled in the Bath penalty area.

Kevin Hemsley scored Crawley's second when he headed home a Peter Fear free-kick on 58 minutes. With the Reds 2-0 ahead the game was all but decided. Matt Coupe then made it even harder for the visitors when he was sent off following a challenge on Justin Gregory. The referee had no hesitation in showing Coupe a straight red.

DMC WIN FOR REDS
Holders Crawley started their Dr Martens League Cup campaign at Havant & Waterlooville this evening. The Reds were a goal behind after 25 minutes after Shaun Wilkinson's 25 yard shot beat Andy Little before Scott Kirkwood, on as a second half sub, equalised for Crawley after 67 minutes

Nigel Brake then gave Crawley the lead 4 minutes later only for Lee Paul to equalise for Havant on 75 minutes, forcing extra time. Matt Seldon scored Crawley's winner on 98 minutes, sending them through to the 4th Round 3-2 victors after extra time.

RESERVES LOSE AT HOME
A Reserve team that included Ian Payne and Jay Richardson lost 1-0 at home to Basingstoke today in the Suburban League Premier Division. Basingstoke's goal came from the penalty spot after only 2 minutes. The visitors also found the back of the net after 73 minutes only for the effort to be ruled out for offside.

 
WORCESTER AWAY OFF
Crawley's league match at Worcester City today has been postponed due to the pitch at St Georges Lane being waterlogged. No new date has been set at the moment

CAUSON ON LOAN AT BORO
Reserve captain Steve Causon has gone on a months loan to fellow Dr Martens League Premier Division side Eastborune Borough. Eastbourne Borough have a number of injuries at the moment and it will enable Causon to gain vital first team experience.

 
SMITH SUSPENDED
Rob Smith will be out of action for two games leading up to Christmas after receiving a two game ban for reaching 10 bookings. Smith will miss the Dr Martens League Cup match at Havant & Waterlooville on 16th December and the home game against Bath City on 20th December.

 
JOFF BREAKS LEG
Reds forward Joff Vansittart will be out of action for 4-6 weeks after it was established he suffered a broken fibula in his left leg during the match against Tiverton on Saturday.

REDS UP TO 4th
Crawley climbed to 4th spot in the Dr Martens League Premier Division on Saturday after beating Tiverton 2-1. It was the visitors who took the lead though on 15 minutes when Kevin Nancekivell tapped home from 2 yards. Mo Harkin nearly levelled the scores just before the interval, only for his shot to be turned round the post by Stuart Fraser in the Tivvy goal.

Robert Smith scored Crawley's equaliser on 57 minutes. Smith's effort from the right hand touchline sailed in to the Tiverton goal to the surprise of the home defence. Charlie MacDonald then grabbed the winner on 79 minutes when he drilled home a great effort in to the top left corner of the goal. MacDonald nearly made it three moments later when he fired a through ball from Paul Armstrong against the woodwork.

DAGGERS NEXT IN TROPHY
Crawley required extra time to beat St Albans in their FA Trophy 2nd Round replay on Tuesday night. The visitors took the lead after 8 minutes through Miguel DeSouza, before an own goal by Corey Campbell ten minutes later levelled the scores. Despite prolonged pressure by the Reds they couldn't convert any further efforts in normal time.

Within a minute of extra time commencing Joff Vansittart's header took a deflection on it's way in to the net to give the Reds the lead. Kevin Hemsley then made it 3-1 after 101 minutes. Vansittart had a couple of chances towards the end to add to the scoreline, his last, which was saved by Wesley Jackman, fell nicely in to the path of Nigel Brake to fire home Crawley's fourth.

Crawley are rewarded with an away trip to Dagenham & Redbridge in the 3rd Round. Reds fans will remember losing to the Daggers in the FA Cup 2nd Round at the Broadfield Stadium last season.
