GREGORY WINS OCTOBER POM AWARD
Justin Gregory is the CTFC.net Player of the Month for October. He wins the award with 3 man of the match wins, against Hednesford (away), Stafford Rangers (home) and Cirencester (away). The last of which Justin won jointly with Joff Vansittart. Defender Kevin Hemsley leads the Player of the Season standings, ahead of Nigel Brake who is second. IT'S TELFORD
Crawley will travel to Telford United in the 1st Round Proper of the FA Cup on Saturday 8th November. Telford, who currently sit in the lower half on the Conference table, beat Tamworth in their FAC4Q replay at The Lamb on Tuesday evening 3-2 after extra time.

YOUTH TEAM RESULT
The Youth Team drew 2-2 at home to Horley Town Youth on Monday (27th Oct) in the Southern Youth League South Division. After going in at half-time 2-0 behind goals from Kevin Joyce and Joe Lyons earnt the Reds a share of the spoils.

HOME DEFEAT FOR RESSIES
The Reserve side suffered a home defeat on Saturday, when Marlow registered a 2-1 win. The visitors scored their goals first, before John White got Crawley's consolation. The Reserves return to action on Saturday (1st Nov) when they make the trip to Thame United.

 
YOUTH TEAM ACTION
The Youth Team are in action on Monday evening when they play host to Horley Town Youth in the Southern Youth League South Division, kick-off 7.45pm.

 
IT'S TELFORD OR TAMWORTH
Crawley will travel to either Telford United or Tamworth in the 1st Round Proper of the FA Cup on Saturday 8th November. With both sides in the lower half on the Conference table it's a game that Crawley should feel they could get something from. Telford and Tamworth played out a 3-3 at Telford's Bucks Head ground at the weekend, with their replay scheduled for Tuesday evening at the Lamb.

 
REDS REACH 1st ROUND AGAIN
Crawley progressed to the 1st Round of the FA Cup for the second season running, following their 4-2 at Cirencester on Saturday. Justin Gregory set Crawley on their way when he scored after 10 minutes. It was all square at the break though, after Gareth Hopkins headed home a cross from Scott Griffin shortly before the interval.

The Reds restored thier lead on 63 minutes when substitute Joff Vansittart volleyed home. Vansittart then scored his second 12 minutes later. Marc Richards' goal with 6 minutes remaining set things up for a tight finish, however it was Nigel Brake who put the tie beyond the home sides reach as he fired home in the closing moments.

RESERVES SEE OF LEAFE
The Reserve side moved above Whyteleafe in the Suburban League Premier Division on Wednesday night after beating them 4-0 at the Broadfield Stadium. Shaheen Sadough scored Crawley's first, with Francis Vines adding a second before the interval. Matt Seldon scored the third on 54 minutes, with Aidan Danaher completing the rout as time was running out.

Marlow are the Reserves next opponents when they visit the Broadfield Stadium on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

 
FA YOUTH CUP DATE SET
The Youth teams FA Youth Cup 2nd Round tie against Bristol Rovers will take place at the Memorial Ground, Bristol on Monday 3rd November, kick-off 7.00pm. With the Reds already in unchartered territory a win against Bristol Rovers could line up a match against a youth team from a Premiership side.

REDS HIT TOP SPOT
Crawley hit pole position in the Dr Martens League Premier Division on Tuesday night with a 5-2 away at Cambridge City. Kevin Hemsley started the scoring with two first half goals, before Carl Wilson-Denis joined in on the act with Crawley's third on 64 minutes. Danny Bloomfield then pulled one back for the home side before Wilson-Denis restored Crawley's three goal advantage. Hemsley then completed his hat-trick with 16 minutes remaining, scoring from the penalty spot following a foul on Marc Pullan. With time running out Cambridge scored their second through Carlin Itonga.

RESERVES FIXTURE NEWS
The Reserve side return to action at the Broadfield Stadium on Wednesday evening when they entertain Whyteleafe Reserves in Suburban League Premier Division, kick off 7.45pm. Whyteleafe are currently sit one place above the Reds in the table.

 
YOUTHS PROGRESS IN FA YOUTH CUP
The Youth team beat Lewes Youth 1-0 on Monday night in front of a crowd of 259 to secure a 2nd Round tie away at Bristol Rovers. Liam Buchan scored the vital goal from the penalty spot in the 29th minute. The Reds had a late scare though when the visitors were awarded a penalty themselves in stoppage time, only for Nick Fogden to strike the bar.

FA YOUTH CUP NEXT FOR YOUTHS
The Youth team play host to Lewes Youth in the 1st Round of the FA Youth Cup on Monday. Kick off at the Broadfield Stadium is 7.45pm, with admission prices set at £4 for adults, and £2 for concessions. The winners of the match will travel to Bristol Rovers in the 2nd Round.

 
RESERVES WIN AT HAYES
The Reserve side won 1-0 at league leaders Hayes in the Suburban League Premier Division on Saturday. Matt Seldon's goal was enough to win the three 3 points, a result that saw the Reds move up to 6th in the table, although they are still 12 points behind Hayes having played 3 games less.

 
REDS CLIMB TO THIRD
Crawley climbed to third spot in the DMLP on Saturday after seeing off the challenge of Stafford Rangers. After a first half of few chances it took a delightful cross from Justin Gregroy, which was headed home by Carl Wilson-Denis, to open the deadlock on 50 minutes. Wilson-Denis came close to adding a second soon after only for his effort to hit the outside of the post. Mo Harkin grabbed Crawley's second on 78 minutes. His 25 yard effort sailed in to the top left hand corner, giving the Reds a deserved win.

RESERVES LOSE AT SUTTON
The Reserve side lost 4-0 to Sutton United on tuesday evening in the Suburban League Premier Division. They are now 7th in the table 15 points behind leaders Hayes having played 3 games less.

 
YOUTHS BEAT CHESSINGTON
The Youth team continued their Southern Youth League campaign on Monday when they played host to Chessington & Hook United Youth in the South Division. Goals from Josh Lyons and Georgie Smith saw the Reds win the match 2-0.

RESERVES OUT OF INTERMEDIATE CUP
The Reserve side fell at the first hurdle in the Sussex Intermediate Cup on Saturday, losing 4-1 away against Eastbourne Town Reserves. Sal Gaye headed Crawley in front on 14 minutes. Eastbourne then equalised before Glenn Matten was shown a red card for violently retaliating to an off the ball incident. With the Reds down to 10 men Eastbourne went 2-1 up soon after. Two second half goals for the home side sealed the Reserves fate.

REDS HIT ATHLETIC FOR SIX
A professional second half display by Crawley eventually saw off the challenge of Croydon Athletic on Saturday. A lacklustre first half saw the teams level at the interval before before the Reds bagged 5 second half goals. Marc Pullan scored Crawley's first, heading home a Mo Harkin free-kick. It was hero to villain for Pullan though when he was penalised for shirt pulling just past the half hour mark. Croydon's James Evans slotted home the resulting penalty.

Things certainly got better for Crawley when Kevin Hemlsey forced the ball over the line on 54 minutes. Two goals inside a minute from Paul Armstrong sealed the game, before Nigel Brake added a brace of his own inside the final 7 minutes.

YOUTHS OUT OF LEAGUE CUP
On Monday evening Crawley Town's Youth team were knocked out of the Southern Youth League Challenge Cup in the 1st Round by Dulwich Hamlet. Josh Lyons scored the Reds goal in a 2-1 defeat. Next up for the Youth Team are Chessington & Hook United on Monday (13th Oct) evening.

YOUTH TEAM FIXTURE
On Monday evening Crawley Town Youth take on Dulwich Hamlet Youth in the 1st Round of the Southern Youth League Challenge Cup, kick-off 7.45pm. Dulwich Hamlet, who play in the Central Division of the Southern Youth League, are currently unbeaten after five league games.

 
REDS DRAW ON TRAVELS
With Dan Marney recalled by Brighton on Friday manager Francis Vines gave Joff Vansittart his first league start, partnering Carl Wilson-Denis up front.

The home side made the better start as the Reds were slow to get going. With a bit better finishing Crawley could have taken all three points and will hope their scoring boots return for the FA Cup match next Saturday against Croydon Athletic.

Vansittart had a couple of opportunities in the first half, although both were saved by Ryan Young in the Pitman's goal, whilst Wilson-Denis fired in to the side netting.

Fabian Forde replaced Vansittart for the second half, and it was he who had the best chance to sneek the points in what was otherwise an uneventful second half, when a cross from Ben Judge was left by Darren Simkin. Catching him by surprise he could only fire over the bar.

 
RESERVES BEAT BERKHAMSTEAD
Goals from Shaheen Sadough (45 mins) and Mamadou Jallow (86 mins) were enough to give the Reserves a 2-0 win at home to Berkhamsted Town Reserves on Saturday. The win puts the Reds 5th with 18 points, 5 points behind Sutton Utd in 2nd who have played 3 games more.

The Reserves next match is on Saturday 11 October when they visit Eastbourne Town in the 1st Round of the Sussex Intermediate Cup, kick-off 3.00pm.

SEAGULLS RECALL MARNEY
On loan striker Dan Marney has been recalled by Nationwide league side Brighton & Hove Albion. Marney, who currently leads the CTFC.net Player of the Season voting, had been an inspiration up front during his loan spell and will be missed by the Reds faithful.

HARKIN WINS SEPTEMBER POM
Mo Harkin is the CTFC.net Player of the Month for September. Harkin won the September award by the closest margins so far, beating Nigel Brake into second place (by having polled 2 more votes over the month). On loan striker Dan Marney currently leads the Player of the Season standings, ahead of the August winner Ben Judge who is second and Harkin who is third.
