Overnight and ongoing torrential rain has brought an abrupt halt to tonight’s FA Trophy game against Crawley. A fourth date for the tie will be announced shortly.

Havant should be kicked out of the Trophy, or at least have the tie played elsewhere.

It's obvious their pitch is not up to standard, surely the FA should step in and do something about it!

Some might quote the cold weather, but only one of the arranged dates was off to cold weather right?

Do they actually check the weatherforecast in advance of re-planning these fixtures?

Tuesday - havant. Heavy rain, snow and a temperature at night of minus three degress! Confused

Their pitch isn't that bad; a couple of years ago Portsmouth paid for new drainage as their reserve team play at Havant.

We have had a lot of heavy rain down this way and if it had started 24 hours earlier all of the Sunday league would have been called off as well.

Wednesday? I'm free Wednesday!

That gives me 48hrs to think up a reason not to go. Ample time.

Well the first postponement was a bit of a mystery but since then the snow and rain has been a bit exceptional.

The first postponment was a joke, 1 week to get a pitch ready since the last game, in the Town Mead days good old stan markham bless him would have put a bit of sand down, rolled it over, and then put a but more sand down and rolledit until it was compact, very few games got called off there

Compared to other teams in the Conf South division, Havant don't have a bad record... in fact it's probably better than most. The first one was unfortunate... a benefit match was played in conditions a normal league match wouldn't have been. The pitch couldn't recover although in the opinion of the club it was playable.

The next 2 dates though, no part time club could cope with the weather conditions. Professional clubs have the same problem, clearly you haven't been watching the widespread disruption to the weekends schedule. Today it's even worse than the weekend, so of course it's off.

As for Wednesday, that will probably be off too, but again why is this Havants fault.

One final point, it says if it's played on Monday and ends in the draw, the replay would be Tuesday. Surely that can't be right can it?

I guess it's about getting the game in so the next round isn't delayed.

In the event this game is also called off, the next date set is Monday 16th. Further postponement after that would see the tie take place on Saturday 21st, the date of the next round. A draw on Wednesday or Monday would mean a replay at Crawley on Tuesday 17th.
