Believed draw on Monday for matches to be played in 2 weeks.

Just across the Surrey border I went to Merstham, who beat Thamesmead Town 5-1. Entertaining game, some good football from the home team.

It's not an excellent excuse for posting on this forum in general.

While there may be a tenuous link to this topic, most of this chap's non-league ramblings on this site are self-indulgent and irrelevant

You may not like his style of writing but to say they are "self indulgent and irrelevant" is a bit harsh.

I will admit to trying to keep up with what's happening at our local non league clubs and have enjoyed some of the articles. I hope he keeps posting as long as the plugs for them don't get in the way or become annoying.

Thanks Jim.

Daz, Hickmott the Elder:

I usually write about Sussex Non League football, which, unless we forget, is where the Reds have spent most of their history. Additionally, this forum is headed 'Talk Football'- and that's what I do.

I've been a CTFC supporter for almost as long as I've lived in Sussex, and for many years did more than just support, as many here will know. I stopped attending because I hated the way the club was being run and accordingly was no longer enjoying the experience. I'd be back now (indeed I'd have been back as soon as the new owners came in), only in the two years I've been away I've developed a second career, and at some point around six years hence I'd like to retire from my job and actually earn a proper living from it so I can't abandon it now. I'm sure I'll see you at some point this season, however- probably when the match the Non League Paper have for me gets rained off!

When I post a link here, an average of around a hundred forum visitors tend to click it. I'm not standing behind them with a gun forcing them to do that, so I assume they do it because they're still interested in the Non League game. Oh, and I'm not making any money from that; my site deliberately doesn't carry advertising.

Anyone who isn't interested, my apologies. Please feel free not to click, and I'm sorry if having to look at the link and deciding not to click it causes you some kind of mental anguish.

Hope you are feeling better Ian...I don't mind you posting your ramblings on here. You know as well as I do that you can't please everyone and sadly the minority often shout the loudest..☺

It only has to be football related to post on this part of the forum. Personally, I quite like to read the articles (not every time, but most of them). It's no less to do with Crawley Town than many other things on here.

Precisely. There's been a long, ongoing chat (battle) between 2 regular posters about dog racing at Wimbledon. No one has had a problem with that. Its tenuously related to football I guess. I've still read it all, and I don't like dog racing, and absolutely loathe AFCW
This part of the forum is called Talk Football, which is what Ian does. What's the problem? If you're not interested, don't read it. Big Sam being sacked as England manager is nothing to do with CTFC either. Do you want that thread deleted? Rolling Eyes

As far as I'm concerned you're welcome to post here whenever you want. Dont see any reason why this forum should be limited to CTFC. Obviously will mainly be posts re: the club but lets hope its never a Crawley only place

Reminds me, I saw last week the new AFC stadium is going ahead after the Secretary of State decided not to call it in.
