DD should be on the phone to him straight away.

Good pals with Jimmy Smith, lives round the corner, knows a lot of people at the club and would be an improvement to the squad.

Perhaps wouldn't be after a massive wage after his pay off from Orient, as well.

Would be a brilliant addition - especially on a free transfer.

I am sure Dean Cox has watched Chelsea play on TV, so this MUST make him eligible to play for Crawley Town Wink

Falls in the category of very good player in this league but injury prone. A risk but would definitely improve the squad.

As far as I'm aware he has only had one bad injury (cruciate).

A player who is aged 29 and has made over 450 professional appearances does not strike me as someone "injury prone".

A player who was reputedly on 5k a week at Orient.

One of the, if not the, best midfielders in league 2. I would be flabbergasted if he comes here anytime soon.

So if a team in the FL offered more money than a non-league side, he wouldn't be allowed to go until Jan. I would expect him to be successful if he took the issue to a tribunal on the basis of loss of earnings.

Highly unlikely.

Partly because he had an employment contract at Orient and chose to reach a settlement on his contract by mutual agreement. So any loss of earnings is his choice.

Secondly because all players knows the transfer regulations and how they work for moves outside the transfer window.

If it was a simply a question of going to a tribunal there would be a back door transfer market where clubs paid players off and they joined another club the next day.
