That caught me by surprise but very pleased.
Makes a few mistakes but young players often do.
he will only get better, an excellent prospect.

Has potential but needs an experienced centre back alongside him (not Ashton). Out of our other players from last season, I would only keep Harrold now and then only as a squad player.

Great news. Pleased to see him back. With better training will be a very decent CB for us I'm sure. That's two good, young CBs we have now. DD will no doubt improve them further. Things are looking up.

Another defender who, in my view, made too many catastrophic mistakes last year.

We will need an experienced head alongside him.............

Jury out until we see the pairing.

Disagree... a few mistakes, as did most others. He is a player with huge potential....and as discussed by the Guru Thad, he has the ability to play a Dier role

Started well when on loan but went off the boil badly.

However age is on his side and some decent coaching will help him.

But a good prospect.

Good. Was comfortably our best defender in the first half of last season. Had injury problems and tailed off towards the end, but still young, Drummy can work with him and I'm sure he can be a very useful player. Agree that it'd be good to get an experienced head alongside him.

Develop him and there may be a fee, could be good business.

Thad, why don't you write a song for our next Eurovision entry?

Or, how about a tribute to one of our players, something original along the lines of:

'Walton's on fire, your defence is terrified" If it's good enough, you might even get a season ticket.

Like a puppet on a string they hoof the ball
They get nil point and win sod all
Boom bang a bang from foot and head
Up the field and into row zed

The crowds all moan that the play is poo
We're finally facing, our Waterloo
But if we want glory in league or in cup
Now's the time Dermot, for making your mind up

Lets shine a light, on all we hold dear
it might take time, but what's another year
Congratulations on playing without fear
Save your kisses for me, I'll just have a beer
