Is the venue of the first teams training session today. The local field where gypsies used to live. I know we have no money, but surely we can do better than that??

Have to feel for Mark Yates in situations like this!

My boys U7's train there, it's fine for them!
Gypsies???That must have been some time ago as the "anti caravan verge treatment" was carried out at least 25 years ago!!!

I don't doubt that, however, I feel our football league should/could be doing better.

It's not the first time we've used playing fields.Back when Francis Vines was manager I suggested they used Gainsborough Road in Tilgate for pre season training. The players all met at the Broadfield stadium and ran to training.I used to pop along with young Billy and watch.

Loppets road is far from ideal though.
Its certainly not one of the better surfaces and has no changing rooms or toilets.
When we were kids in the 70s we played there and got changed under the tress.
We are in a sorry bleeding state if it's come to this.
They should use Southgate playing fields or Cherry lane,at least they are adult pitches which loppets isn't and have changing rooms, showers ,toilets.

Is that the place that used to be bigger but a part of the fields was used to build houses?

luxury lad... back in the fifties & sixties we would play in bare feet and we'd kick a pigs bladder over molten ash & broken glass... Surprised

..Seriously... I think it won't do them any harm at all to have to use the local facilities just like ordinary civilians... if it helps make them meaner & hungrier for success, I'm all for it..!

What about the area by Rathbone road - and the New 4G pitch - there were 2/3 pitches that are now never used with the decline of the Crawley league a few years ago. Its also near the stadium. Playing surface wasn't brilliant though - always flooded when there was a hint of rain, and then there's the dogs

I wonder who drew the short straw and had to go round clearing up any dog poo before training started?

Ardingly was only arranged for pre-season. I suppose it's possible the school need the facilities themselves now.

I haven't seen the "statement on arrangements for the remainder of the season" yet.
