And we think we've had "fun" at times.

Saying that I was threatened with legal action in the past by a certain former manager for comments posted on here. Shocked

Those comments were not made by me, he just held me responsible for the forum's content.

An apology like that (noting the comparative cmpany assets) reminds me of an old joke (this actually happened).
My friend said to me," <name> reckons that you're not fit to live with pigs. I stuck up for you though Paul. I told him that you were." Smile

So, the link to the fundraising site on there. Do we think this is kosher? (...I ask as someone who has just made my contribution to paying off the costs of the poor pensioner being screwed by modern football confused4)

The fundraising site is on the level- I paid too. But the whole situation is appalling. I really feel for Blackpool fans; awful owners, a pitch that resembles the venue for the world bog snorkelling championship, and they have to live in Blackpool. Is there no mercy?

I think that repetition of a slander can be regarded the same as the original slander - so it might not be wise to post it even if someone does know.
I take my cue from the link earlier in the thread. The defendant's comments seem to provide a strong hint if I'm reading it correctly.

I think you are okay if you preface it with.... "it was inaccurately alleged that..."

Yes, he wrote that Blackpool wouldn't be in the mess they are in if the Oystons stopped penny pinching and appointed the world class coach Paul Groves, who is currently languishing in L1.

Isn't a dose of sea air supposed to aid recuperation?

My understanding is.... the basis of the apology centred around postings which inaccurately alleged that... the Oyston family place the pursuit of personal wealth ahead of the welfare of Blackpool football club....(?)

dontknow

Lets face it.... football is the only place where the likes of the Newcastle owner get publicly pilloried for having the temerity to make an operating profit..!

The thing is that club owners put themselves in the spotlight.... the onus is on them to deliver... it isn't fair insofar as if you pay 20m to fund the club you don't get to voice one million more opinions than the guy on matchday who pays 20...

...if fans buy a ticket then they are entitled to a view and they will see things from the outside in... with emphasis on the state of the team, then the state of the ground, then the state of the burgers, then the state of the loos.... etc... and very low down the list is the state of the finances..!

Hopefully we get to play them next season, but Blackpool IS a *beep*, full of drunk Glaswegians glassing each other, will have to take a Kill Bill martial arts training regime before i think about going.
