...that I hate the contrived goal celebrations that are prevalent in this World Cup.

I want to stand for the FIFA presidency, so I can ban them, or better still, kneecap any pi11ock who indulges in such feeble mindedness.

Whatever happened to a simple raising of the arm and a manly handshake with your team mates.

...and yes I know that I sound like Victor Meldrew.....

Modern football/modern top level footballers need to have a long hard look at it/themselves.
Embarrassing and cringeworthy.......but the average new modern football super fan just love it.
Razzmatazz.

American Football has a rule against 'excessive celebration's so I see no reason why something couldn't be brought in for any other sport, mind you, the sin bin would be ideal in football as well but 'the powers that be' seem to me too scared of the players to make decisions about anything that might upset the overpaid little dears

Perhaps Sepp Blatter could run a fact finding committee when he finds himself unemployed

Agree with all of the above but personally, I wouldn't trust Sepp Blatter to run a bath

I know the celebrations can be cringeworthy but once in a while there's a gem.
It's an old one but this one brings a smile to my face:

I can go with a dance at the corner flag but when it's been choreographed I think it makes them look silly.

Unless it's a Haka! I would never say those All Blacks look silly.

The only time to celebrate - with pride & spontaneity - is after you have won a match... celebrating a goal only serves to break concentration & focus.

I'm all for a firm handshake, although as a concession to modern trends i'm prepared to go as far a pat on the back and a "well done sir"...!
