I'm not bothered about his age - within reason. Goalkeepers last longer than outfielders anyway. A GK who looks after himself is good up to 42 IMO - though not at the highest level. Anyway, he's a lot younger than me.

I would have much prefer we had gotten a young ambitious goal keeper with some reactions.

How old was Peter Shilton when he was still playing? wasnt he still playing into his 40's

If you keep yourself fit you can add years onto a career, if your good enough you can play!

Apparently he will be taking on some coaching responsibilities as well. I presume that means there'll be another keeper coming in, potentially a young keeper who can learn from Jensen

Sounds like a very good signing, with lots of positive comments on him from Bury fans who were sad to see him go.
Also sounds as though he likes to dominate the box, which for all his ability at shot stopping Paul Jones (apart from when he threw it in his own net) wasnt very good at?
As for his age, its only a 1 year contract and by all accounts a very fit 38/39.

Exactly what I was going to say. It's amazing the negativity around this place sometimes.

Great signing.

Welcome to a true no.1.

Look I hope Jensen is a super star for us . But it doesn't change the essential point 99 out of 100 goal keepers are way past their best at when they are well into their late 30s . Identifying five or six goalkeepers who played on to 40 and trying to suggest that proves goal keepers generally aren't finished at this age isn't really convincing.

As I say if he has a great season no one will be more pleased than me.
