Proctor should win this by a mile after his performance today. Showed the commitment, passion & desire that was missing before he came on.

Proctor, easily. Thought Monakana looked good when he came on. Torres put in a good shift as he always does. Thats about it. Badly missed Bulman and Tubbs.

The joy of a game of opinions eh...?

I was sponsoring the match ball on Saturday, but KRL despite paying for the match sponsorship weren't present so I was asked at the start of the second half to select the MoM.

I've done this numerous times as match sponsor and it's a poisoned chalice to be honest. You're never going to agree with 3000 others in your selection. I also think that you get a very different view of the game from the dugout (which I sit right behind) as opposed to the terrace (where i divide my time).

For me Saturday was down to a choice of 3 players. Torres, Connolly and Proctor. I conferred with others as it was a genuinely hard game to pick a stand-out MoM who suggested Connolly and I think on balance he was right.

Torres worked hard (as always) but there was no real final output. Proctor did well when he came on, but he only played 35 minutes. I struggle to give MoM to a player that's put in a 3rd of a shift.

By process of elimination we arrived at Connolly.

It's not ideal, but like I said, it was a *beep* of a game to pick a player for.

I have said many times before and I'll say it again. If you don't like the player that gets chosen, put your hand in your pocket and sponsor the game yourself...!

No explanation required Matt, disagreeing with the Sponsors M-o-M choice is a fine & noble tradition on the terraces of Crawley Town, it ranks alongside disputing the crowd figure, complaining about the PA and slating the quality of the refreshments....

... all part of the matchday experience, I wouldn't have it any other way..!

Goes against the grain Matt... no-one likes to see light thrown upon magic... a rational & reasonable explanation removes the air of mystery and enigmatic quality that traditionally surrounds it.... think X-files... less explanation and more mystery please...! Wink

2 years ago I was vetoed from selecting a certain Mr Evans as MoM after a truly shocking team performance...!

Maybe they could add a "none of the above" option to allow a protest vote...? Surprised

Of course some people would argue that Proctor did more in 35mins than Connolly did all game.

I could suggest that if in a quandary over an MOTM choose Joe Walsh as the default, he very rarely gets the credit he deserves for going consistently and quietly about his job (again last night). Easily our most consistent high quality player of the season (IMO!).

Indeed Mick, plus he still has a chance of being our second top scorer after MT.
