No MOTM performances but still the winner shows his consistency.

One of our most solid players - it makes the unwarranted abuse he got last season laughable.

Why is it at our club there always has to be a fall guy, a pantomime villain?

I remember back at Town Mead when I could hardly see over the barrier how silly it was that the grown men behind me didn't back the players in the team that they supposedly supported.

More recently it was Glen Wilson who got it.I never understood that at all.
The less clued up eventually caught on though didn't they.

And still gets it this season from certain individuals no matter what he does. Perhaps they will now hush, but I doubt it.

Yep, Wilson got it too, didn't he. When he left he was a bit of a cult figure who was probably cheered by the same fickle individuals.

Who was the left back that played for us around 1994 that got terrible stick, I can't remember his name.

Mickey Turner was a left back, played from 1992-96 - him?

I suspect that a lot of it because some see him as displacing Torres (which may be true). Torres can be a good impact sub though - especially if chasing a game.

Jones has come good for us. But you can't say he's doing well this season, therefore it makes last season's abuse laughable, cos that was last season! It was unwarranted yes, but last season his performances weren't all that. RB stuck with him as a regular even when he wasn't producing the goods, so the anger was directed as much at Barker as Jones for continually picking an under-performing player.
This season he is much improved - he needs to cut out his habit of receiving the ball and immediately making a backwards pass, that is unbelievably frustrating - but otherwise he's doing fine. I particularly like it when recently he's played out wide in the Nicky Adams role. He looks a decent winger and his final ball is much better. Anyways, I thought poor Jamie Proctor was this season's fall guy. The kid tries and works really hard, he just needs to remember how to shoot. Certain of our 'fans' really need to lay off slating the players all match, it's beyond tedious.
And Glenn Wilson was a legend for CTFC. salut

Mickey Turner - that's him.

He got terrible abuse. And from fatties that probably have never played the game at any level whatsoever.

There's always a fall guy and that was that era's.
