Thought JG said we couldn't afford to let anybody leave as the squad is too small? Hope he has a right back lined up.

Not good enough for L1 in my opinion judged on his performances this season. Loan move makes sense, but cannot see him having a long term future here.

Agreed, not sure he is up to the job at RB, but would be a decent wide right player for us. He is pacey and has a cracking shot on him. A change of position could do wonders for him, and would leave LW as Adams domain. If Adams stays. Confused

We don't need one, we have Simpson who can cover, in fact I would have played Simpson at right back on Sunday.

Good move for Hurst at 21 he needs games.

I believe Hurst's out of contract in the summer. Can't imagine that deal will be extended.

Can we afford to let fringe players go out on loan? The squad is small as it is!

Hurst should hope that Northampton would like to make the deal permanent, because he's nowhere near good enough for League 1 footie.

Good point Alex, you should be manager. If only that damn transfer window was open...

Well I think it's a fair point we had a squad of 17 effectively ...it's now 16 . We need at least 20 experience league players so that means 4 new players.

We need 4, but how many can we afford to employ?

I hope JG brings in a decent full back or winger. Though tbh if he brings anyone in they can't do much worse than of last seasons loaneees.

In fairness all three of those are better than Hurst. Hurst is not good enough for League One football. Hunt and Howell probably could be and Wilson never ever let anyone down

I take a slightly different view. Hurst is an athlete and has played for England age group sides . Going forward he has a load of potential. He has pace and a decent cross ...that aiside as a defender he lacks defensive instinct and most importantly the physical desire to " make the crucial tackle". It's about aggression and desire in defence and he hasn't shown he has it.

Gregory should try him at RW. He's fast and has a good right foot. That would leave Adams on the left. How to fit Bulman, Drury and Clarke in I haven't worked out yet. Smile
