Welcome aboard - was a very good striker in his time and may be very useful in our current position where we can't buy a goal!

It must be the panto season in Pompey... they've got our Dick... we've got their... er... Whittingham.. Embarassed

In particular, he will be working with our strikers. We have a problem scoring goals and I want him to transfer his knowledge onto our forwards in particular. Initially he will spend some time on that side of our game.

Good news...
particularly for the perceptive individual who posted yesterday in the "Darius V" thread...

I'm wondering if a better short-term investment might be to get an experienced forward - maybe a retired one - in an "attacking coach" role....? Rolling Eyes

Any idea what his contract length is? I'm guessing it's 18 months like JG, but if anyone has any other information, please let me know.

A thumbs up from me. JG making all the right signs so far. Great appointment. Does GW's position mean that JG is still on the hunt for an assistant manager?

Never a truer word spoken! Fortunately he's their Dick now, their problem and they're are most welcome to him!

Remember playing against him and trying to mark him a long time ago as he played for a Sunday League team down here at one point (same one that Cotterill played for). I certainly remember a funny whistling noise in my ear for most of the game as he went whizzing past although we kept him down to 1 goal... and we beat them! Smile

I hope he's a better coach than he is a manager.
