This will please RRR et al but is not good news IMHO. If he does go to Portsmouth, they will have acquired a very decent manager.

Shocked

The timing isn't the best when performances have gone downhill.

I wasn't a great fan of Barker but time will tell how good a manager he was.

Edit: He was sacked? Shocked

Coppell can be Caretaker until a permanent solution is found. Whoever is in charge will have the same players to work with until January.

I am sad to see him go...I wonder if Coppell will take the interim.

Not sure how attractive we will be to new managers...especially if R,R & R does the first interview

Shortest sacking statement ever?!

Assume it is to do with Pompey but, if so, surprised we haven't kept him until they pay some compensation. Poor run of results recently but I think Barker's done a decent job overall on very limited resources this season.

Spot on. I doubt any replacement will be able to do any better.

Not a big loss. Plenty of managers out there capable of doing a job Barker has done so far.

I was reading earlier that Mike Phelan is open to offers and isn't adverse to dropping down the leagues...

Sorry to see him go. Not everyone's cup of tea but as good as we can get with our limited resources. The website worded it as if he was sacked. If that's the case, I doubt that it was for football reasons. I know we've had a bad run recently but I can't see it being over that.

Would probably want more money than we can offer and is based in the North-West. I think this is bad news.

Good Luck to RB, if it is Pompey, then he is going to a massive club. Lets hope the club get a decent replacement ASAP.
Has left the club in a decent position in League 1 & a hell of a chance of drawing another glamour tie in the FA cup if we can overcome Bristol Rovers.
