Well did we dodge a bullet or are the Rotherham fans way wide wide of the mark. They basically are in uproar he has done nothing , doesn't look like scoring and taking thousands a week out their budget. They say he has no strength , not quick , can't score, can't hold the ball...and basically want shot of him like ....yesterday.

Unrecognisable from the player that left us with 18 goals by Jan. it shows the grass isn't always greener....not sure where Tubbs goes next ...sad really.

Probably need to find a decent league 2 club and rebuild ..Portsmouth would be ideal but he needs to take a serious wage cut if Rotherham fans are right about 7k a week.

If what is said is true,it sounds nothing more than a knee jerk reaction after your side is thumped at home by an average side.
How did Rotherham get on today by the way?

He'll always be legend here but the reality is that League One is probably a league too high for him. He looked completely out the game when Rotherham were at the Broadfield.

I do believewhat you say, but would also temper that arguement with the fact that when he was with us he was match fit, but has not played regularly for some while now.

Both times he has played at the Broadfield since he left he looked very ordinary. However forwards need game time, give him 3 or 4 successive starts and that will be the time to judge.

But to reply to Crawley69's point, if it's true he is on 7,000 a week (if) it would have been a massive gamble, however no more of a gamble than spending 100k on a player who can barely last 45 mins.

Tubbs started Rotherhams first 5 games for them. Before Evans lost faith and dumped him on the bench . He now gets 15 minute cameos at the end .

Rotherham have 7 strikers now they have signed Tom Eaves on loan from Bolton ( I think).

Re Sinclair I think we will have to be patient but totally agree his general play has been very worrying. There just seems a lack of intent to challenge for the ball or ability to hold it when played up to him.

That said he has scored 2 goals in three starts so must be doing something right.

Beaten 0-4 at home by Swindon Town, Tubbs came on after 56 minutes.

Can't see Tubbs staying after his loan spell is up. Spent an awful lot of time on the bench & I guess he was hoping to avoid that after Bournemouth.

Sinclair has had no pre-season. Some knee-jerk reactions but he has signed a 2 year deal and the time to judge him is ina few mnths when he should be up to speed. The same goes for Tubbs who I don't think had a proper pre-season either. I think both players can do a job at this level.

Well I could do a job at this level too - as a ballboy Smile - but I get what you're saying and do agree with it. Even top level players have sometimes taken 6 months/1 year or so to adjust to a new club - and that can even happen when they are playing regularly. That's one reason I stayed off Mike Jones' back. He seems to be improving now.
I do feel that Tubbs is at the highest level he can play at though.
Also, it should be borne in mind that one goal per two games is what strikers aspire to. Any more than that and they are doing very well. If it's one in three, it's still fairly OK though (15 - 16 a season in L1).

I would still prefer Tubbs to Sinclair even a not 100% match fit Tubbs looks like hes trying where with Sinclair he goes on the attack. He then takes an age to get back so that he is not off side when our defence are looking for someone to pass too to start the next attack. Sinclairs work rate at the moment needs to go up a gear because the more he runs around he should get fitter but with the attude we see at times he should be fully fit by end of April.
