Does anyone think he'll actually ever manage to get into our squad?

I always thought he looked promising but I can't see him getting into the team in the near future, I'd of thought it would be better for his career to sign a permanent deal at a conference-ish club where he will get regular games and can then make a name for himself (I'm sure the interest will be there).

Anyone know how long he's got left on his contract with us?

Andros Townsend has spent the last 3 or 4 years going out on loan from Spurs, now he's keeping Aaron Lennon out of the team.

Jonte has been one for the future, but looked better in pre-season. With such a small squad I can see his time coming at some point during the season.

I'm surprised at the timing. I would have thought it better to delay until Alexander's suspension was finished in case Proctor, Sinclair or Clarke got injured. It would only need one to get injured for bench cover to be advisable.

Im not, it means getting him match fit quicker. If what you mention happens surely he can be recalled and hopefully make more of an impact, as would be more match fit!
