Apparently today's Rymans Prem game at Wingate had to be abandoned when the home side had 5 players sent off in the second half. The first time it has ever happened in the Rymans.

I see Ben Smith was playing in that game. I thought he had retired from football to take up coaching.

If I remember rightly the Sheffield United found themselves in the same situation a few years ago didn't they.....? No doubt a heavy punishment is going to be dished out after today's episode!

with only a goal in it I think its a harsh and the wrong decision.

What do you think should have hapepned then?

Maybe the precedent should have been set that if you are losing, get five players sent off and you'll get a chance at a replay? Idea

when there is no proof and deliberate 'removing' your own players hasnt taken place what if the opponents score din the last few mins? Also how much extra time would there have been? its unfair on a team whe you play the full 90 mins iof the score was say 3-0 or more then fair enough you could argue the chances of scoring so many goals in little time justified the result standing but with such a narrow margin i think its unjustified and the game shoul dbe replayed.

Should have been recorded as 3-0 IMO. Whether or not the final two players got sent off deliberately is neither here nor there. Fact is, 5 players were sent off and the game was abandoned. There is strong precedence for abandoned games (i.e. teams not turning up or buggering off early) being awarded as 3-0 wins.

Had the other team lost 5 players through a mixture of sendings off and injuries, that would be harder to call IMO, but based on 5 sendings off (deliberate or otherwise) I think it should have been a 3-0 win.

RR & R. I think the spectators have been done out of 5 minutes of football and are entitled to compensation. I am sure that the season ticket holders and those who have a ticket stub from the Margate game feel they have been defrauded

They had FIVE players sent off. Can there be any better reason to award the match to their opponents? Confused
