Speaking of goals... Tubbs and Barnett have hardly pulled up trees since they left us...

How dare you! If Million Pound Matt and Two Million Pound Tyrone hadn't been sold, we'd be in the Champions League by now!!!!!!!!! But they were sold and it devalued my season ticket. And my Crystal Palace ticket stub. Twisted Evil Razz

I wouldn't call 62 goals in 233 "prolific". But a decent, experienced signing. Odd that Brentford should let him go though considering how much he has played for them this season.

Do you not think 19 in a season is prolific? That's what he got at Scunthorpe, the club I referenced.

If he gets 3 goals, that's more than the rest of our strikers put together. Not including Clarke, who is an attacking midfielder. And needed back in the first team pronto!

Welcome to CTFC Paul. We needed a forward and RB has gone out and got one.

Let's hope BC and Josh aren't too far away from returning as well, the lack of quality on our bench has been painful at times recently.

Think we need some experience up front but as has been said seems a little to late three home draws in games we dominated could have made things look a lot more possible. Think we are to far behind with the number of games left to play for a play off challenge.

Maybe he is testing things out for a permenant move next year.

RR&R retains an affection for Tubbs & Barnett solely based on what they did for us in Conference/League 2... but is dismissive of Hayes on his goal-ratio...

...but if he objectively judged them ALL on the same criteria of League 1 (or higher) goals, it is no contest with Hayes as the obvious choice.

If you actually look at who has impressed since leaving us, the player who stands out is - surprisingly - Wes Thomas.

To my mind, to describe a striker as "prolific" they need to be delivering on a regular basis - averaging roughly a goal every three games or less for starters. Yes, he has had a couple of good seasons, but not consistent.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying he's a bad signing for you, far from it. There may even be a case to argue that he is "prolific" at League One level but struggled higher up.
