This surely means another keeper is on their way into the club or will be soon?

Not a bad bit of news. Was great to have at the club, but he has hardly featured and I doubt he is anywhere near a league one standard now. Good luck to him in his coaching.

I heard a rumour last week that we were close to signing Eastwood from Portsmouth. I can see that being the case now

Considering Eastwood was playing BSN football last year can't see how now he is anywhere near this standard.

well he did look rather average when we played them, i know the conditions were poor but his kicking was awful

I'm gutted too but realistically, he was only going to play if Jones got injured. He can certainly still do a decent job for someone. I just hope that someone is signed before Tuesday as it would be crazy to have no senior keeper on the bench as cover.
I will never forget how he single-handedly ensured that the Crewe strike force would need a week on valium Smile

Sad to see him leave but it must have been very difficult for him this season with another goal keeping coach being brought in and no real prospect of getting a game whilst Paul Jones stayed fit.
I hope that he finds another club quickly.
He played a huge part in our promotion last season, stepping up when Shearer was injured. Good Luck Michel

Nice guy and great character... he'll be missed in the dressing room...

...but it is probably the right time for him to move and will help the club with managing the budget.

Fully agree with Ross
Really sad to see Kuipers go he has been terrific and a great servant to the club. Crying or Very sad
However Jones, in my opinion is the best we have had in goal (except for Maggs Wink ) and I think Kuipers is to good to just warm the bench, although it was reassuring incase Jones was injured. I will be amazed if we get anyone as good to replace him.

Best of luck to MK. A decent keeper who can surely do a job at L2/BSP level? Too good to warm the bench, but like others have said, no real chance of dislodging Jones.

Hopefully get a keeper who is better than Gilmartin. Peter Brezovan of Brighton anybody? Experience in the Championship, would surely provide some decent competition for Jones & is out of favour it seems....

I would've thought we already have at least two ideal men to keep the ball out of the net if Jones is injured, GA and BJA
