Joe Walsh who has been called up by Wales U-21s for their friendly against Iceland in Llanelli on Feb 6.

We play Sheffield United at Bramall Lane the day before. Shocked

I guess he won't be available for our game.

I know that and you know that but you can bet someone might think he'd play for us and then Wales U21 the next day.

Wasn't there a player who played for their country, and then played for there club the next day? Flew in and was on was on for the second half?

Edit: Mark Hughes did, played for Wales against Prague, and then a private jet flew him to Munic to play for Bayern.

Professional players who have access to Head of Medical and Sports Science, a Physiotherapist, a coach and Performance Analyst should be capable of playing 2 games in 2 days. Teams that play extra time and then penalties play the equivalent of almost a game and a half in one day of less than 3 hours. Training takes place day after day doesn't it.

Absolutely no reason why he shouldn't play for Wales, travel up to Sheffield from Wales after the game and relax for most of the day before the Sheffield game. Easy innit!

It's the other way round isn't it? Play for us then play for Wales. It's up to the player I suppose, but we don't have to grant permission for him to play do we?

Don't think you can equate training to a matchday. Spent far too much time working at Tottenham watching Spurs players 'train' to know that most wouldn't even break a sweat.

My apologies. I am a silly billy. He could play for us, travel to Wales after the game v Sheffield, relax the next day until it's time to stroll through the game against the postmen, gardners, ladies hairdressers and clerks from Reykjavik.

Hughes played for country first then club. This would be the other way round, therefore (extremely) unlikely.

John Wark apparently played in Escape to Victory in the morning and for Ipswich in the evening !
