Transfer window update
The club can today confirm that it has rejected bids for both Hope Akpan and Kyle McFadzean from a Championship club.

Chief Executive Richard Low said: "We were expecting interest in a number of our players during the transfer window because of our performances this season and I imagine that will continue throughout the next few weeks.

"A Championship club has come in for both Hope and Kyle but their offers don't come anywhere near our valuation for either player."

In addition, striker John Akinde has been told he can look for another club during the window, whether that is a loan deal or permanent transfer.

Boss Richie Barker has so far released three players, Scott Neilson, Scott Davies and Charlie Wassmer, during the transfer window and brought in Lateef Elford-Alliyu.

I think Hope will go, he's out of contract at the end of the season, same for Josh - would love them both to stay but money talks.

If Hope learnt how to tackle from the 'Sergio Torres School of Tackling' (Away to Barnet excluded) he'd be a really good player and would hardly ever get a yellow.

Oh i think they will sell - but not cheaply!

If we lose anyone then they will get an amount that we can't really afford to turn down.

If they offered 2 million for Fadz, would you say no ? Confused

We either need to tie Hope down to a longer contract or let him go. We can't afford a player of his quality to leave for nothing at the end of the season. Unfortunately, the same goes for Josh, if a bid comes in.

It's nice to know that we don't HAVE to sell Fadz now he has signed a three-year deal with us in the summer.

Yep, I agree. If they don't sign new contracts then we need to cash in whilst we have the chance. I'd prefer it if both signed new deals.

Talk/speculation on Saturday was Bolton after Fadz.

If we got a decent offer for Akpan I would do the deal. Good player but a lot easier to replace than Fadz.

Indeed, good player who couldn't even get a game in League Two last season.

It will be hard to keep Akpan if he is out of contract and it will be near on impossible to get a decent fee. Anyone who wants him will not pay more than 100k tops to get him now as opposed to July.

KM is a different kettle of fish , he has a three year deal plus is a better player in my view realistic sale vaue I would is 1 million

It would be a shame to lose either really but if Akpan won't sign then we have to sell really. KM I would also sell given Walsh and Conolly are performing well. We would need another centre half with experience . Fact is though a club like ours needs the cash and we could do a hell of a lot with a circa 1 m fee . That's the equivalent of around a seasons worth of home games and we could get 5 or 6 decent players with that money in the summer.

I may be wrong but because he is under a certain age does that mean he would require compensation? not sure how much the compensation would be but i think the same happened with James Collins when he transferred from shewsbury to swindon it went to a tribunal?
