I was hoping akinde might get a start seeing as barker likes playing to the conditions but I guess he doesn't fit that formation.

I think akinde would fit the formation perfectly as the lone striker but im guessing he would rather play akinde with another striker then by himself. I think its the right move though to go 4-5-1 and try and attack on the break.

Good team and formation if I was being picky I would have gone with Torres instead of Mike Jones but only because of pitch conditions. Good to see Davis and Clarke on the bench.

Goal for Blades from a free kick just outside box. Ref git it wrong. Defender git the ball from where I am.

We are second best though. They look like a team with a plan. We don't.

0-2 down now, Akinde & Clarke both on for Alexander & Bulman. Seems that 2 free kicks were badly defended? No doubt someone who is at the game can clear that up?

No the free kicks were wrongly given but superbly (especially the second) finished.

Did anyone catch the attendance? Looked like a great showing

Two good free kicks although the first was never a free kick. 1st half we looked afraid of them and neither team created anything much. They are a cross between old style Wimbledon and the Chicago Bears NFL, playing no football and spoiling at every opportunity (end of 1st half we had a corner, Kitson and Connolly at back post, Kitson just grabbed Connolly and threw him to the floor!).
All in all hugely disappointing and another decent crowd which will not be rushing back on that showing. We did have a little spell 2nd half when we tried to play a bit but crossing generally poor and no forwards anyway so it was all pretty irrelevant.
Killed off by their second goal out of the blue and also taking off Danny Bulman when he seemed the only one of the midfield three who was at the races. Hope Akpan looked as though he was away with the fairies alot of the time.
Wouldnt go down the end of the road to watch them with that style, but then probably say the same about us at the moment!

4,604 (1260 and something)

We look completely out of ideas. Losing at home and we wait until 81 odd minutes to shove an extra man up front.

Second half we were neat and tidy in the midfield, but no end product, mainly because there was no one in the area to get on the end of deliveries - when I left at 86 minutes their keeper was still clean.

Didn't play badly today, just nobody to finish off the chances we created. 2 goals from free kicks for Sheffield and that was enough, so frustrating.

Why was Dannie Bulman subbed? Our best player out there today!

Why did we keep with 1 up front when we brought Billy Clarke on?

Their Goalkeeper did not have a save to make and walked off the pitch with a lovely clean Top, Shorts and Socks.

Richie Barker is slowly starting to get on my nerves. Stands there all game, hands in pockets or arms crossed, making subs at the wrong times and IMO the wrong subs.

An unfortunate turn of phrase regarding Hope.
My view. Not disheatened. Overall I thought we gave as good as we got and the only difference was that they can take free kicks. The first free kick looked the right decision though I will take correction once I've seen a replay. I thought it was badly defended as the ball went around the wall. I suppose P Jones must take some responsibility for not lining it up properly. The second one. Not a foul at all so a bit soft. Nothing wrong with the defending either. It was superbly taken and I'm amazed that P Jones nearly got to it.
We lost but I'm encouraged.
Before their second went in, it was starting to look like Sheffield United were in for a long afternoon hanging onto their lead. However, for all our territorial advantage after half time, we didn't make much in the way of clear chances.

Barkers lack of experience now shining through.Tactically inept and always ready to apportion blame to others.Pressure will start to mount on him now and i question whether he has the footballing knowledge and personality to cope with it.Time will tell, hope im wrong.

An ok performance overall, but our attack offers about the same threat as Outer *beep*. GA is absolutely useless, but it doesnt help when we cant put a decent ball in the box.

Why does Adams still take corners? Does he realise that you are meant to try and beat the player at the near post?

Richie Barker is inept, he does not have a clue how to be a football manager. Wrong subs at the wrong time, appears to favour certain players far too much. Steve Evans was a complete *beep* on the touchline at times but at least he showed some passion!

Steve Evans had the ability to mentally beat a team by 3 o'clock on a Saturday.
From what I'm being told,we look mentally beat come 3 o'clock on a Saturday.
Evans had his knockers, and was labelled as tactically inept on more than one occasion. Was he really though?
