UEFA Shocked It just beggars belief. Why can't we have the old European Cup back. Champions of Europe only, a proper cup competition and not some drawn out league format. Likewise the ultra dull Europa League.

But of course its all about money and TV revenues. Twisted Evil

I think it would make the best of a bad job.

One the one hand UEFA don't want to reduce the amount of clubs involved in European competitions due to revenue.

On the other hand the Europa league is a joke, the equivalent of the League cup with teams playing their stiffs.

It says seven English clubs can enter the Champions League.
So that makes six English clubs that are'nt English champions.

Bring back the old European Cup with just the champions entering with the knock-out format.

But as it's all about cash it will never happen.

Terrible idea. It will devalue the champions league and decrease the standard of football. It would be boring watching say the 2nd best team in Croatia v the 3rd best team in Romania, exactly why nobody likes the Europa league. There wouldn't be a few dull games like the champions league though most of them would be dull. it I doubt all the top clubs would be pleased with all the extra games that would have to be played either. It just incorporates the things people don't like about the Europa league into the champions league. UEFA is clueless.

I think its a good idea.

Id rather have this than the current model including the crap Europa league that no one really cares about. and lets face it, they will never ever go back to the original format of just champs, so you may as well forget about that idea.
