Worryingly poor home turn out then.

2,600 home fans for both league games so far. Hopefully we can add 800+ to that next Sunday so that we have our first ever attendence at the Broadfield of over 5,000.

Helped by 200 more Pompey fans.

Genuine question - if here are doubts that the place will be full, why not move the segregation in the East Stand and give Pompey another 2-300 tickets.

This would avoid having Pompey people in the home end, plus today it looked as of the away bit was virtually full but the rest sparsely populated.

Do not agree with any of the comments about Josh Simpson having a bad game...with Nicky A and Clarke being lightweight and Adams being wide it gave Josh a huge workload which he did well!

Also would like to put a vote in favour of Connolly...think he is a good player who will only get better.

Only 900 odd in the East & South stands combined?

And if you're gonna fiddle your crowd, the idea is to LOWER your VAT bill...

perhaps not if you've got a high wage bill and money in the bank?

I for one didnt think he was "bad" but just thought the whole midfield didnt take enough responsibility for getting the ball and playing football. Too often the defence or the keeper didnt have an option to give a pass to feet (having said that Fadz is too keen on the long "showboat" pass rather than giving it short to the midfield to sort out)as everybody was so far away. The formation was all over the place first half which didnt really help anybody.
As for Connolly maybe they should give him a game in the centre of defence because all the games I have seen he has been skinned by the attacker pretty much every time. He looks more comfortable heading the ball, but would also worry he may struggle for pace in the middle?
I thought the philosophy carried over from O'Driscoll reign was attempting to pass and move more but today we seemed to be slipping back, but maybe just a one off.

[quote="Warren"]Wasn't a great game but we've picked up the 3 points which is the main thing, despite playing poorly!

Impressed with M. Jones when he came on - looks a tidy player, rarely gave the ball away and got the assist for Ajose.

Agreed. Alexander not up to par at all. Ajose out of position but fabulous strike from nothing, two big points gained. We'll be very glad of them at end of season when we're trying to stay up. Can't figure out why Clarke was pigeon-holed in one position. He should be sitting in behind front two with a free reign moving anywhere, that would create much more goal scoring opportunties. Everyone can see it except RB.

it wsnt great today and Mr B recognised that but its also true what he says good sides win on 'bad' days too and today we did that, the table doesnt lie we are in a play off spot early on on merit.

what concerned me was why it took Craig B to point out to Mr B that Ajose and Billy C needed to swop places! Furthermore why take the MOM (by the sponser) Ajose off that didnt make sense at all! Seeing the highlights on the Tv this evening Adams and Ajose were very insytrumental in our win today and we were a shade unlucky not to get another goal (or possibly two).

Expect Slade to be sacked on Monday or possibly in a weeks time.

Thought lot player were under par today. Gary A for one and Simpson another. Hope was rightfully booked but at least he showed some battle in the middle of the park today and wanted to make things happen. At one stage i was thinking Billy C might open the Orient up and be a contender possibly for MOM. No one really stood out for MOM so my vote goes to the keeper, nothing wrong and a fine save.

Fadz quite a few stray balls but on flip side gets his hea din there and clears his lines, I feel he isnt at his best yet and thats unfortunate especially as Claude appears to now be out for a while.
Can and will do better no need to panic we are 4th enjoying the ride!

The problem with that is in the age of allocated seats in the East Stand, seats would have already be sold in the area where you're suggestin we put Portsmouth fans.

I think the crowd looks lower than it was because the ground is bigger now.

Was not a great performance but we should have had a few penalties. They had a hard working midfield. We only had one midfielder that can tackle in Simpson. Adams wide. Clarke or Ajose both forward most of the time. Akpan in front of the back four great with the ball but offers little off it. No wonder we went long ball not enough bodies to play through the middle. You need a Torres, Bulman or Cooper style player in the middle to help Simpson.

A few seem to be complaning about RB tactics 5 wins from 6 people including 2 championship clubs. Early days but forth in the league above Shefield Utd.

If we get 3 pts against Portsmouth we will be 25% of the way to safety

Everything three points we get in this division is a great three points. I don't think we'll stay where we are but it's fun whilst it lasts. That said - and colours to the mast time - we will not go down.

Orient were on top in the first half. Our midfield looked over-run and lightweight. Ajose in midfield was silly, he just does not know how to tackle. With no Bulman or Torres in there we had to many luxury players. For me one of Dannie or Sergio has to play each game.

In the second half we got the ball down and played a lot more possession football. Mike Jones made a real impact. Orient offered nothing more than muscle and hoof ball.

It was a class winning goal, the pass and the finish was the only real sign of what division this match was played in.

Interesting that when Davis got injured that Connerly didn't fill the gap.

The most disappointed person will be the Orient fan who reffed the game. Alexander was pulled all over the place and for me there was at least one clear penalty.

More needless worring about attendances. We're a small team with a small but growing fan base.

Scores on the doors:

P. Jones - 8 - Everything he did was made to look comfortable. Good distibution.

Hunt - 7 - Nice to have a right back playing in his position. Solid through out.

Sadler - 7 - Excellent defensively but I would like to see more going forward.

Davis - 8 - Played really well until he got injured. Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks.

McFadzean - 9 - A lot of ariel warfare from Orient which Fadz dealth with and excellent distribution on the ground.

Akpan - 6 - Never real got in the game. Lost the ball too easily.

Simpson - 6 - Looked lightweight. Was crying out for Bulman to come on.

Adams - 7 - Working really hard and had the measure of the defenders.

Ajose - midfield 5/up front 8 - Not a midfielder. Came alive when he went up top and it was a superb finish.

Clarke - 6 - The man undoubtedly has talent but I don't even think that he knows his own position.

Alexander - 6 - It didn't help that he was fouled throughout the game but little seemed to stick with him like it usually does.

Cooper - 7 - Suprisingly solid as a centre back and always wants to bring the ball forward.

M. Jones - 7 - His control and vision swung the game a little. Definitely will be pressing for a starting role already.

Forte - N/A - With the little time he had on the pitch he still managed to get involved.

That's true. There had to be over 3,000 there yesterday, the West Stand was quite full, so together with the away fans that's probably 1,600 on it's own.

Not great but I certainly wouldn't say disgraceful. Still the holidays (only 11 of my 19 lads available for training this week) plus the Paralympics fully sold out and soaking some people in.

Also remember this was the 2nd of 4 home games in 2 weeks, we are in a tough economic environment and people will pick and chose.

7 of 11 games in L1 yesterday had gates below 4,200 so we are not alone in that.

Especially at this time of year.

Sheff Utd had <9,000 yesterday, Derby had 20,000 and even Celtic only pulled 45,000.
