A very good keeper from what i have seen of him but at 37-38 can he still do it in L1?

Got to be honest, I am hoping he has been signed as back up. If so, it's a good signing.

This looks a very good signing. Welcome to Crawley Brian. He was voted Bury player of the year last year. I would expect him to dominate the penalty area.
Its good to see some players being signed early.

Obviously very experienced but 39 years old., gIve me a break. Same age as Kuipers is now. For me that is to old for a goal keeper ..we had to let MK go at 37 a couple of seasons ago . I can't see him being back up either as he wouldn't come here to perform that role.

I would have much prefer we had gotten a young ambitious goal keeper with some reactions.

Big surprise, you're being negative. Not even seen him play yet and putting the boot in. Rolling Eyes

No just my opinion we have first hand experience of an ageing goal keeper in Michael Kuipers. He was good in his day as was Jensen but even for keepers time catches up. Bury didn't offer him a contract in the league below but we think he will perform in a higher standard league.

I hope he proves me wrong but simply in my opinion a 39 year old keeper is not the way to go . I am sure his experience will help in some aspects but his ability as a shot stopper will have diminished with age. I certainly don't think it demonstrates an improvement on Paul Jones.

Bury's player of the season last year I believe.

As a keeper the age doesn't concern me greatly. In fact I think Scott Hiley was 38 when he joined us and was as good a right back as I have seen at Crawley.
