Reds will be Paul's 11th different club since he started his career as a trainee at Norwich 12 years ago.

During that time he has made 450 appearances in league and cup including 346 starts and scored 112 goals - an average of nearly one goal in every three starts.

He joined Brentford on a three-year contract last summer after helping Charlton win promotion to League One - the third time in his career he has been part of a promotion-winning squad at this level.

In 15 starts he has scored five times for the Bees but has not been involved regularly recently - his last appearance coming in Brentford's 2-0 win over Stevenage a month ago.

Will you ever get over Tubbs & Barnett? They have moved on so should you.

Welcome to the club Paul, hopefully the next 6 matches will work out well for both parties.

Ben

Good experience could be just what we need.

Prolific goalscorer at some of his previous clubs (Scunthorpe springs to mind). Seems strange we're pulling out all the stops now to get a striker... we should have made this sort of signing a month ago.

it doesn;t appear strange to me how slow on the uptake is RB making substitutions Wink

Does this mean Clarke is going to be out for a while and/or will this mean smith goes out on loan again

I wouldn't call 62 goals in 233 "prolific". But a decent, experienced signing. Odd that Brentford should let him go though considering how much he has played for them this season.

A bit of experiance up front can't hurt us.
Maybe he will get stuck in and attack some of the crosses we waste.

(I wondered whether it might be a right back to cover Hunt while Muzzy is away but I suppose if Simpson is back training he can cover.)

He is not a spotty kid and he has scored goals at this level... what's not to like...?
