It has not been just about the results though has it ?
Performances since Christmas have been very poor and the club could not afford to carry that over into next season.
The right decision in the circumstances. An experiment that failed unfortunately. |

They showed there inexperience and got to many things wrong.
Would have been to much of a risk to the club to keep heading down that road.
Correct decision. We move onwards and upwards.. |

Now then, who's going to ask Dannie Bulman to return here as a Player/Coach?

Couldn't do any worse than the last Incumbent - at least he will instill a pride in wearing the Red shirt.

Danny Bulman as a no.2 to an experienced head coach could be just what is needed and he knows the place and the fans and his never say die attitude was warmly welcomed here |

Anyone but Graham Westley, for me, or Martin Allen.
I'm starting to warm to Danny Wilson. Knows L1 and L2, would have lots of contacts, discovers the odd rough diamond (Charlie Austin at Swindon) and has experience of reaching the play-offs with both Swindon and Sheffield United. Ticks a few boxes for us IMO. We do need an experienced head and the next appointment can't be one we can gamble with.
Look forward to seeing who's in charge of proceedings on Saturday. Can't imagine Ziya will have anyone in time for then, so maybe a Harrold-Morris (if injured) combo, ala Alexander and Hinshelwood at Crewe when Barker left?

Sad that it didn't work out for them. They seemed to be genuine nice guys and had lots of good ideas.
Good luck in the future.
Who to replace them with...
Craig Brewster?
John Yems?
Jim Baker? |

I thought Drummy was a decent guy, but it just didn't work out.
His desire to play good passing football was commendable, unfortunately there was a reason that we found the likes of Clifford, Payne, Henderson etc in the Conference/unattached bucket and they just didn't have the quality or fitness required. You could see that last night, the Albion kids had an energy and fitness level that ran rings around us.
Good luck to whoever comes in, it will be tough with the support and budget we have. But certainly not impossible as Burton are showing.
On replacements, we should take our time and interview different people. Wilson is a decent shout, however Danny Cowley has shown there are good managers in the Conference (Waddock?). Simon Rusk has done a good job at Albion and I guess wouldn't want to move. I would also think about Bulman but realistically it would need to be with a more experienced John Still type partner. |

All this talk about Bully as boss - does anyone know if he actually has plans to go into management? Surely after 40+ games in League 1, he'll feel he has another season left in the tank, even at 38? |

Watt and Henderson aren't here now are they? Keep Yorwerth and Roberts - the others on the list can go. |

My mole who lives under the M25 popped up and said he thought he saw Gary Waddock stuck in a traffic jam at Junction 12. Of course the significance of this is open for discussion. |

He did a more than decent job up until January and I liked the way he went about it, the football was better than we had got used to and we just needed to push on and build on what he had started. I really don't know what went wrong after that..?
Selection, motivation, fitness, tactics, substitutions... likely a combination of everything, but he had got that mostly right previously and it seemed to drain away very quickly... that home loss to Crewe made me suspect it was becoming a crisis to the owner who made a statement about it being below expectation... a veiled threat to sort it out or face the consequences.
Unfortunately that did not have the desired impact and as much as I feel that the bloke has decent qualities and the right vision, it was impossible to defend him after last night and although I wish him well for the future, I could not see him turning things around anytime soon. |

I think you'll find he was going in the opposite direction just in case CTFC tried to contact him
