No hurry.

Exactly.

Where has this reasoned thinking come from.? I agree, but it seems such a big shift away from the usual hysteria & delusion.

I honestly don't think we are far off the level required. We just need a bit of strengthening in certain positions in the summer.
Most of all we need more stability and consistency but I believe that will come next season. I really believe club is going in the right direction.
Rome wasn't built in a day.

(However, I felt this confident looking forward since the year we got demoted, just before Dean Saunders and all the players left !)

Exactly (again).

Teams generally don't progress when they replace the entire squad and manager every year.

I reckon we have 6/7 of the team required. We need to roll the dice again, release those who haven't made the cut and replace with better.

In reality itll be same old bull *beep* about exciting new players push for playoffs improvement and if the manequin is in charge without any adequote scouting and coaches that cant spot the obvious let alone improve the team...id expect more of the same...hopefully they will be two more teams certain of relegation that again its impossible for us to go down.

the core of the team is in place

Morris
McNerney
Connolly
Smith
Kaby
Cox
Collins

other than that i don't think we have much worth keeping.

Once we are mathematically safe i would be putting the rest of the squad on notice that their careers at the club are hanging in the balance.

this will give them all chance to win a new contract with us and if no significant improvement they can find another club.

if they are unhappy with this scenario either transfer list them or drop them

Enzio and Yorwerth are definitely worth keeping.

I'll also be sad if Young, Payne and Roberts went but not heart broken.

Yerworth wont stay i really don't think he has done enough when given the opportunity but like many i don't believe he is a CB more of a midfield general in the future

Enzio is really poor has so much ability but rarely makes use of it, his positional play is at best average and he can't read the game to save his life, his lack of urgency when getting back to defend really irritates me aswell.

He would be one of the first out the door along with Bobson, Taj, Arthur and Harrold if it was my choice but it never will be

I like Young, Yerworth, Payne and Roberts but feel they need to prove they can cut it at a team like ours and are the latter 2 luxuries we can afford?

Tiny Cox has been a huge disappointment. Arrived to enormous fanfare, but has shown nothing to warrant it so far.

I like Yorwerth. We looked best when he was in a back three with McNerney and Connelly.

I think his suspension saw a premature end to it, but I'd like to see it reintroduced assuming all 3 are available.

Our biggest problem is that Drummy consistently shuffles personnel and formations. There seems to be continual tinkering, and not always injury or suspension related.

Drummy not knowing his best team or setup so far into the season is quite frankly ridiculous.

I actually really liked it when Enzio had a free role alongside Collins. He has more of a frame of a striker anyway, I'm surprised it wasn't tried again. He has natural ability I think can be harnessed.

Likewise Yorwerth. There's real talent there. We shouldn't be discarding a player like that so young. He real could be one to develop.

I feel less passionate about Payne, Young and Roberts especially with Roberts given he's so injury prone. I think Payne adds something different (a far better option than Henderson) and Young has proven himself to be versatile and pretty dependable.

In a few of the remaining games, I'd like to see Kaby played as the midfield protector with Yorwerth as a box-2-box ball chaser... gives us a bit of steel to disrupt the opposition and enable the ball players more opportunity to use their craft..?

Silly question, but what role did Cox play when he was with the likes of BHA, he just doesn't have a great impact on the game for us, I thought he'd give us more energy.

I'd go with that.

Anything different should be commended at this stage.

BICH we have certainly seen different things in both Yerworth and Enzio so as and when they play again i will look out for what you have said

not being a fan of Enzio i am kind of blinded to what he does in all honesty.

however his goal against Barnet was top draw as was his celebration where he went over and hugged a young lad - a bit of class from the man
