At least minus six overnight, inevitable really. Most games in the south will be off unless club has undersoil heating.

Not sure the weather is within the club's control.

Great shame though, if there was ever a game you didn't want calling off it would be this one.

Was there really no chance of a thaw by 2 oclock. In another hour the sun will be up and the blowers could have been kept on for 3 or 4 more hours.Im just thinking it must be frozen solid.??

Has been sub zero all week , and the pitch covers only went down on thursday .
part of our garden in shade hasnt thawed out all week so maybe they put the covers down too late and ground was allready frozen.
still think they called it too early , could have at least given it to 1.00 to make the call.. at the least there would have been some takings over the bar to compensate.

Step out into you back garden its concrete. These covers are of limited value. They say prevents freezing down to temps of minus 4 or 5 but that is over one night. They can't cope with constant low temps or three or four consecutive nights of -3 plus.

Travelled down from Stoke last night via Derby picking up Darkhorse, this morning sun is shining, not long ago match would have been played in much worse conditions.

Second time this year have booked tickets travelled and match cancelled, other being Brighton. Gutted

I feel your pain OC! I've been caught several times like that over the years although I think this is the first game we've lost to the weather for a couple of years now. I'm surprised the ref made the call this early to be honest but even up this way it seemed colder last night than the past few nights.

Referees desision, no one elses. I'm sure no one from the club wanted it cancelled...
