Dean Cox plays in a position where we are quite strong. Whoever is left out can feel a little aggrieved...even if it's Dean Cox.

I said to bench Enzio. He's a good winger, just not been in the best form. So yes he will feel annoyed at being dropped, but it will be good to have decent players to bring on when we need to. We don't have too much strength in depth. I imagine that will change in time for next season.

Agreed.

I'm not quite sure where he fits in, but I'm pretty bloomin keen to find out, the sooner the better.

There is no point whatsoever in keeping your best motor in the garage with its engine running... unless you are planning a suicide.

Thad; that's what I was getting at. By reputation he is by far our best player.

With that being the case he should play in HIS preferred position. I just feel a bit sorry for the poor sod who misses out.

Start.

Drop Clifford and let the three rotate around Collins.

That's quite an attacking foursome.

Agree

Those four should cause any league 2 teams defence problems

Completely agree. Been to the majority of games this season and have still yet to see Clifford do anything of any note.

Enzio was excellent at Plymouth and by all accounts played well at Leyton Orient. Clifford is inconsistent - he is an improvement on Walton and has days where his obvious quality shines through. However, he also has too many days where he is anonymous. He would be the player I would drop to bring Cox in.

Anyone seen this? Apparantly Russel Slade thinks he can get Cox to go to Coventry.

I bet we would allow it too, if the price is right.
The biggest obstacle might be the player himself as the story was that he wants to stay local.

I believe players can only be registered with two clubs in a season, unless that rule has changed? Loans don't count as the parent club holds the player's registration.

In that case, maybe Coventry see us, CTFC, as their own version of Burgess Hill for the next 5 months or so....how a depressing a thought is that!?

You could see his quality today in his delivery. Would be a shame to lose him just as he's free to play. I would be surprised if he went as he had plenty of choice to move to league one clubs including MK Dons and Northampton but declined because he didn't want o travel of live away.

That said if Coventry are offering 100k k. We probably couldn't afford to turn it down.

Really... Last time I looked, Coventry City didn't have a pot to *beep* in...

Cox cannot play for another league club until the start of next season.

Will we keep him at the end of the season? If he enjoys his time here and he is known to be a local loving lad then I would suggest it would take a really big wage hike for him to consider it. In which case I would wish him well anyway.

We cannot affect it except by being good or bad supporters.
