No full backs on the posts for corner kicks AGAIN & a 'keeper that can't command his six yard box rooted to his line with a feeble effort for the second goal.

Paul Jones' mistakes are proving costly - Contract up? Move on !!

If Goalkeeping coach Paul Barron is on the payroll, I'd suggest he donate his last months wages to a Charity.

JTG

Has also made some top saves though. He is an good keeper at this level and one of a number of good SOD signings.

If he can't get it right now, his constant mistakes WILL send us down next season.

No use making 2 or 3 world class saves then fumble one harmless pass back to lose a game and three points.

And he doesnt like coming off his line! Even the ever polite JB was mildly critical in his commentary today. What happened to your team talk today then JTG, could you not have emailed it to the team hotel?

The other end of the pitch is a bigger concern for me. We need to score more goals IMHO.

As mentioned in the prediction thread, a minutes silence held today re the victims of the fire. A nice comment on another forum about this -

Respect to Crawley laying a wreath behind the goal, really nice gesture, went up a lot in my estimations today.

Poor first half, scrappy, not a lot to play for, thought we edged it just about.

Second half was better, their goal, a long kick from their G.K. three touches and a shot, good goal, however poor defending and perhaps Jones should have come for it. IMO Jones has done well for us this year, just the last few games he has made a couple of avoidable errors.
Proctors goal well taken but a bad defensive errors on all accounts.
Bradfords second goal, another one conceded from a corner, it did look like another mistake from Jones (a missed punch).

Spoke to a few Bradford fans all said we were unlucky and were the better team on the day, also mentioned was the last home game for quite a few players, I wonder what our team will look like next season.

13K crowd with about 80+ of ours, emotive day due to the remembrance of the terrible fire, especially for those who were around at that time, I remember the scenes on TV my heart goes out to all who lost a loved one

Jones is a good L1 keeper going through a bad patch. Even the very top keepers do that. Can only judge it on what I've seen but I reckon he would get straight into more L1 teams than not.

He's a good keeper, excellent shot stopper, though with appalling distribution and not the best command of his area. At least he's started punching the ball now, he never used to do that before Barron came on board. He's easily good enough for L1, indeed was a regular for Peterboro in the Championship, so I think we were lucky to get him and I really hope he stays next season. JG definitely needs to bring in an experienced keeper as competition though.
You are right Paul, he is just going through a bad patch. He has made some mistakes which have cost us points, but so have the defenders. And Jonesy has made some crucial saves time and again which have won us games. If he learns how to take a goal kick that doesn't end up in the stands that would be good Very Happy And JG needs to change how we defend at corners. Leave two up by the centre circle, get defenders on each post, and actually mark the oppo players! This would help immeasurably.
