It is not often I get down after a game, but today was an exception. I went away deflated.

Player ratings:

S. Jones - little to do, conceded 2 - 5
Sadler - Mr Reliable, still made too many errors - 6
Walsh - really don't remember him doing much which must mean he made few mistakes - 6
Fadz - great defender but distribution is woeful - 6
Connelly - IS NOT A RIGHT BACK - 6
M. Jones - thought he was ok, one of the better players, surprised he was taken off - 7
Torres - proved he is not up to this league - crowning moment was when Monakana lost the ball for the second goal, Sergio stopped to berate him before chasing the ball - chance to regain possession/delay Crewe attack lost - 5
Simpson - unusually poor game, would rather see him central/right rather than left - 6
Dicker - poor game apart from the corners which were some of the best taken this season.... - 6
Clarke - he'll want to forget this game - 5
Fallon - despite those around me thinking he was poor, I recall him winning headers as long as the ball went to him. Better with Proctor on - 7

Subs:

Proctor - superb goal, worked hardest and was rewarded, added a different problem to the Crewe defence - HE MOVED AROUND - 8
Monakana - he beat a man on the outside with pace. I repeat he beat a man on the outside with pace - is that the first time this season???? Oh, and he can cross the ball. Failed to stay wide though, wandering inside too much- 6
KaiKai - did he touch the ball? ot enough time to judge - default 5

Here is an odd tactic - let's play 2 wingers and Fallon up front as a good old fashioned centre forward to get on the crosses and see what happens.

Altogether we played poorly, but oddly enough were better than Crewe. Oh to cut out those errors that lead to conceding goals.

JG thought Sergio Torres had a good game.
I thought Torres did ok,certainly not the worst performence of the afternoon.

Phil T just hates Torres. Doesn't matter what he does, he will still slate him Rolling Eyes
I thought Torres was our best midfielder. Didn't have much competition TBH, but still worked hard for the team.

No it doesn't. You always have it in for Torres, as evidenced by your earlier post. Worst Crawley player against Crewe? No, mate. You must have worn out your favourite phrase "he's just not up to it at League 1 level".
Looking back at our last 5 games, I wish I did have a selectively memory. Very Happy

Regarding the betting scammer mentioned earlier.
I did see a foreign looking Gentleman being escorted towards the exit by a couple of stewards. He was carrying a note book and a smart phone.
Initially thought he may of been a scout from a rival club or a rogue journo. dontknow

People around me were moaning at Dicker, yet for the first half an hour I thought he was the only one with any composure. Sergio works really hard and has put in good performances, but thinking of next season not sure JG will see good as good enough. Fallon also got loads of criticism. In fairness he played alongside Billy Clarke, who is seriously off form, for most of the game. When he played alongside the dynamic Proctor, his headers and lay offs were more effective.

Dicker clears the first man when taking corners. For that alone he deserves MOTM.

Since he came back from his injury Billy really doesn't seem to have hit anything like the form he did before. Plus anyone who has scouted Crawley will know the drill, show him onto his right foot and the game is up, and Crewe did their homework well.

However to be fair to him what chance did he have from Fadz/Connolly's long balls anyway. A 5ft7in forward and we spent an hour just hoofing it forward in his direction. If we are going to do that then best put Proctor and Fallon up front together.

Fallon was raring up at the referee all afternoon, he needs to calm down a bit, (although the ref was shocking).

As a non-regular Crawley supporter, I took my young son to the game on Sat.

The first half was pretty much as bad a half of football as you will see anywhere. It was dreadful with both teams paying poorly.

The ref was astonishingly bad in the first half (better and fairer in the second) but somehow managed not to send Fallon off.

I think many people are being a bit unkind about Crawley though. In the second half they were much better and deserved to win the game. Crewe remained very poor for the second half but Crawley controlled a lot of the play and had a few decent chances. On another day a couple of them would have gone in and everyone would be happy.

Two poor pieces of goalkeeping - fumbling the first (which was not a very hard shot to deal with) and hesitating for the second - doesn't mean that Crewe were the better team or deserved to win.

I agree with other posters on here, some of the players looked tired towards the end of the game and the midweek games seem to be catching up with them.

As for those saying Crawely is doomed to relegation - please! get a grip. Crawley still has a few games in hand and I am sure they will start to pick up points again. They were very unlucky not to pick up at least a point on Saturday.

Now is the time to really get behind the team and support them through this - and they will get through this.

I am going to come to more games now than I was planning to, to help support them through this blip.

Dicker seemed to be doing the same thing a lot too as well I thought. Thought both players were pushing their luck tbh. Agree re: ref, he was abysmal.

The ref should have sent himself off.

I cant comment on todays game but i have been to the last 3 away games and to be frank they were all disgraceful,

I was one of the many a few months ago to day we will NOT go down but now, jeez, If we don't get anything from Tranmere and Carlisle, then I think we can say we might go down.

Nothing for the 3 away games had made me think we can stay up, poor all over, yes we may have a good spell but game after game after game nothing ever seems to come from it.

I hear in JGs post match speech and it the same every game... best team blah blah blah, didnt take our chances blah blah blah...

what makes it worse is the fact that the players know if they want to play for us next season they are to have a pay cut!hows that to motivate a team!!

As for tired legs... im sorry but i dont buy it, 90mins running around 2 times a week as a professional athlete, i did more plus working a 8 hour shift 5 days a week.

Sorry rant over heres to a play off... sorry mid table push!! COYR

Sorry, were you really at the Port Vale game?, it beggars belief if you were, disgraceful!! We were the complete opposite, just ask any Port Vale supporter. Jeez, you get such a distorted view on here sometimes, as they say you just have to be there to get the full picture

Yes, he was. I don't share his opinion on the game though.
