And yet at the fans forum Mr Dundford Said the pitch needs addressing but they would rather spend money on players and NOT the pitch.I would be laughing if I wasn't crying for banging my head against the wall.

Looks appalling, worse than that cow field I played in Chailey on a Sunday morning.

Dunford has got a lot of explaining to do.

He needs to make some serious decisions and I suggest a public apology to Tranmere and our fans.

Would those pitches not be porous chalk base, rather than the impermeable clay we have?

The pitch wasn't playable when they put the covers on and so surprise surprise it's not playable now.

This part of Sussex has had the worst rainfall since records began - we all know and sympathise with that. However the club need to acknowledge that the pitch is not up to League standards and have the balls to call a game off before the away team, away fans and travelling home fans leave home.

Any ref would have looked at the pitch and the forecast last night and called the game off.

However all said, I will be back - whenever that is - cheering on the lads and hoping to finish as high up the league as possible.

Can't help but feel than Tranmere had a hand in this as well. Works out quite well for them.

The question is what is he able to do between now and 1 March (our next home game)?

What are you implying, that they did a rain dance in the coach on the way down?

I wonder how we plan to lower the high water table - just look at the ground around you - there is nowhere for the water to drain! Covers don't help - we need a month of dry weather for the water table to lower in this area. Lucky we're not Chertsey eh?!!

Just seen Michael Dumbford's interview. Reading between the lines, I wouldn't be sleeping too well tonight if I was the groundsman. Maybe the club are looking at employing a specialist in that position rather than the current odd job man !

I am sitting here with head in hands. Its a complete mess and I fail to reason why the error of Saturday has been so basically committed again this evening.

Those of you who know me will know its nearly always about the fan and in this case both carlisle and now tram fans have been right royally dicked.

Ok, masses of rain has fallen but to call both games off so close to k.o. is just so wrong.

I also notice that our ground staff got a very positive mention in the Argus today. How do they feel now ?

terrible situation, worst for many seasons !
