Well sounded frantic but we are still in the draw.

Wonder when the replay will be?

Don't fancy meeting them in the 3rd round. Wink

Don't worry, they were knocked out by Welling in an earlier round

Listening to JG's interview you wouldn't have thought we had scored nil against the third bottom side in League 2.

GA's first half display was the best centre forward display he had seen in a long long time. Well I suppose he has been out of the English game for a long long time, so it figures.

Still I suppose we didn't lose.

I wasn't at the game but regardless of the performance it's another game we haven't scored in.

3 goals in our last 10 games (including 2 games against lower division teams) is pretty dire.

I like JG's optimism but I think it's misplaced.

I thought we played well in the first half, we had fullbacks making overlapping runs and getting into attacking positions, with it being a rugby ground as well both teams were having trouble with the final ball into the box though.

Alexander had as good a game I've seen him play since Preston away, his hold up play was very good bringing others into the game. We have a new tactic from goal kicks / Jones clearing where we all stand on the left and wait for a knock down.

Their keeper made a couple of good saves, the one from Connelly was very good, nice to see Mark go up to him at half time and give him a pat on the back.

Adams again flattered, he looked OK going forward but never really put any telling balls into the box.

Second half we never really got going and allowed them to build up a head of steam, they had a good shot hit the bar and Jones pulled off a great save, the clearance off of the line at the end was not too difficult as we had 2 or 3 on the line. With both keepers playing well I think the draw was the correct result. After what they did at York we will have to make sure we complete the job.

Sounds like we are creating plenty of chances we just need a lucky break in front of goal.

Sounds like same-old, same-old.

At least they are creating chances, surely we have to score eventually if we keep making chances.

Absolutely right Graeme. I still go by the adage of 'take a chance'. You never know what kind of deflection you get that diverts the ball into the net. And they all count.

First half thought we looked okay, but still with no real threat to their goal. As Hants Red has already mentioned, Alexander had a good half, but Sinclair was, in a word, woeful.
Second half, as has happened many times in our recent dismal run, we seemed to run out of ideas and resorted to type. Rovers on the other hand began to play with some confidence, their fans started getting behind them, and we would have been two down if it were not for the cross bar and a world class save from Jones.
I would have yanked Sinclair off much earlier for Proctor, and probably would have given Sergio at least 10 minutes (he warmed up enough in front of us for the whole game, bless him) to see if he could spice things up a bit and maybe prove a point in front of the new gaffer?
All in all, we are still in the hat, we did not lose or concede (or score) and JG has not really had a chance to impose himself on the squad, so I am positive for the Preston game and the reply (when hopefully we will have a big game awaiting us to inspire the boys a bit more).
