As frustrating game as you are likely to watch this season!

If you could pick a way to play against us that would cause the most problems watch the way Salop did. They saw and recognised our weak spots and played in those areas. The two most effective players on the pitch were Bains and Taylor. Brains made our centre backs look very ordinary and Taylor made Hurst... Well Hurst was tailor made for him. Right footed left winger. Show him down the flaming line don't force him onto his strong foot.

For all the negative feeling though we didn't lose.

Thought that Shrews were a good side. They have quick counter attacking options. That said we missed some good chances, and the pen.

Personally thought midfield were a bit deep at times and we gave the ball away on occasions. RB can only do so much, there was some poor passing and missed chances.

It was a nasty tackle. The referee played the advantage and then booked Hirst some time after the incident.

Shrewsbury were well organised but we still had more than enough chances to win it. One or two key players were 10 percent off where they have been aka Adams and Clarke but both still did some good stuff.

Agree re Hurst going forward he looks pretty decent, but he seems to struggle with some aspects of the defending I.e positioning and when people run at pace. He wasn't bad today at all, just a few key errors.

Reality is our ball in the box wasn't good enough to many times. We opend them up at will in the second half only to let ourselves down.

I can see us being a better away team where teams come at us and give us room. Shrewsbury were tactically decent and worlds apart from Gillingham last week.

We seemed very slow to get going today, especially in the first half.
To many players under performing at the same time.We weren't absolutey rubbish, more underwhelming really. We certainly looked ok in bursts, trouble was they were very short bursts and not frequent enough.
To often in the first 30 minutes we resorted to hitting long balls. It wasn't constant, but it was enough to suggest we were struggling to find a way through their midfield.
We certainly have decent players,it's just we need them all to be on their game for the 90 minutes. If 2 or 3 are playing badly then it affects the whole team and we do struggle to get going.

The penalty came at a great time for us.We needed something to boost the confidence going into the break.Unfortunatly Billy fluffed his lines. It Basicly summed up the first half.

The second half started off disastrously. We conceded in the the first minutes and the afternoon began to look very bleak.
However,we actually started to get ourselves back into the match. All of a sudden we found our stride and began to look more confident with the ball.
The passing was better and we showed far more purpose in the final third.
The pressure we put on the Shrewsbury defence paid off and we scored a bit of a scrappy goal.We then had a spell of pressure where we should have scored at least 3 times. We did come under pressure at the other end as well though,Shrewsbury looking particularly dangerous on the counter attack.
The match could easily have been won when Nicky Adams was put though by a delightful pass from Emile Sinclair.Adms found himself in the box just to the right of goal with Clarke and Drury inside the six yard box screaming or a cross, instead Adams took a wild shot that flew over the bar,to the absolute disgust from Clarke and Dury.
And that was the end of that.It was probably a fair result but still disappointing not to have won.

That game was as dull as the weather.
Thought I saw Clarke and Proctor arguing over who would be taking the penalty, was that how it was? Shades of Torquay in the cup with McAlliater and Cook.
We were wasteful and clueless at times but avoided defeat so all wasn't lost.

As dull as the weather? Thought it was a good game, both sides trying to play football. Don't know what you must think of England games then. Suicidal?

Yup, England game was even more dull Very Happy
What annoyed me was that when we created some good chances, we were very wasteful. I never felt we had any momentum and were at risk when they broke away at us.
Our midfield are all much better than we saw today so when they all have an off day, we lose our way. Still, we can't win them all but I think we'll do well at Colchester.

I find it a bit disrespectful and frankly depressing reading some comments on here " dull as the weather". ...get real..There was a bit of after The Lord Mayors show " after Gillingham . But we played well today in big spells . One or two were off by a bit but we could have had 5 goals with better service and finishes.

We have a bloody good team. Small squad but a very good team on 3000 attendances . sheffield Uniteds 16000 regulars would bite your hand off for our performances.

Really wanted to go today but it's quite a decent job I've picked up - the biggest for some time. Can't afford to turn that sort of money away at the moment.

Was it a Bank Job Cool

First half was very boring

Second half we were excellent

But problems were, last ball was poor, finishing was poor.

We should have won about 5-1

Man of match was THEIR goalkeeper Crying or Very sad
