Apart from the normally excellent P Jones, very hesitant, i thought we looked pretty good, we should have played the Benny Hill music when we had the 'pitch invasion', that would have made my day.

Blimey, that wasn't good for the stress levels. Thought Coventry may have just about deserved a draw (almost) on their second half performance (or was it our second half non-performance) but credit to the lads for digging out a winner when Coventry were looking the more likely to get the points. Coventry must be kicking themselves after working so hard to get level.
A hard earned three points - and who knows how valuable they may be come end of season.

First half we played really well. The intensity was there and the team looked good. Even Gary A was winning headers and getting involved as was Proctor. We were picking up a lot of lose balls and Coventry were on the rocks.

Second half They came at us and we struggled to have the same intensity and you could see the goals coming. Mike Jones capped off a fine performance with the winning goal and his energy and general play was good he's starting to prove his worth now.

Some very encouraging signs going forward but worrying how we struggled in the second half.

And what a great goal it was too. I'm sure you will anyway, but it's worth staying up for tonight!

Strange old game first half we looked in a different league to them. They were very poor in defence throughout which has cost them any points.

Second half they over ran us quicker passing and more determination closing us down. From our view point it was just long balls to Alexander and Proctor which we couldn't retain and I thought our football 2nd half was very poor. The one time we kept it on the floor Adams broke and played a great ball to Jones for a very good goal.

Win is a win two front men worked hard as usual but I would dearly like some pace up front. Adams again our main attacking weapon very well supported by Jones.

Not sure we can afford to leave Drury out our first 11 mind.

Can't wait to see the goals.
They will be recorded for me as I have an early start at congregation tomorrow.

The home support was disappointing 2300 from Crawley is not good. I suspect there maybe a sig number on holiday and we could probably expect another 600 for that type of game in Sept or but even so not sure local populas recognises what a decent side we have.

Youngsters are the key. Older folk are already wedded to Brighton, Palace or the big London clubs. Went in my local after the game , in there were two Palace season ticket holders and a table of Milwall fans all living in Sussex 4 miles from Crwwley.

All wanted to know about the game new the players etc but don't attend matches.

The number of home fans were down about 300 compared to first game last season, although this one is earlier. The overall gate was about 300 up compared to first game last season.

Reckon there'll be a lot more for our next home game.
