One disappointment was the attendance today. Or at least our fans 3100 and 1700 from palace. I would have thought we could have got more than 1400 for a premier league club visiting.

Next week is what matters.
We should get 3000 home fans next week to start us off.
If we win I can see that number rising when Evans, Raynor and Tubbs roll into town, should be a tasty afternoon that one.

Well first of all first game of the season
For me expecting a bit of a hammering oh my god was I wrong to many players outstanding today but if I have to bane a top 5 jones Walsh
Torres hurst and Bulman
Special mention to the youngster
From Bognor took a bit of time to settle in but did really well his 30 yard passes were superb sign him up
Well RB has a lot thinking to do after this about team selection for Saturday .
Can't wait more of the same please

Cue silence from R, R & R. On here very quickly when things don't go well but quiet when they do!

I also thought the boy on trial from Bognor looked good.
He is the Bognor captain and it showed with the amount of talking he did.
Considering he was on trial he looked calm and assured and on that short performence deserves at least another look.

I wasn't so impressed. He did nothing wrong granted and don't argue he deserves another shot, but who is he going to challenge for a spot?

For me our starting midfield as it stand is

Adams Simpson Bulman Drury

Now I could quite easily argue Jones gets a start as he has a decent level of skill , just up and down form wise.

Torres is a back up who's energy makes up for his lack of strength but another fella who is even smaller than Torres I would question.

I think we need a strong holding player aka Bullman ..does wills fit that role?

Yep, and scored 5 goals I think?

Think so. Fabregas was in that Arsenal side.

I recall it as Quincy getting a hat-trick and then getting subbed for being too good... he looked fabulous that day... I think Anthony Stokes actually scored more and Fabregas came off the bench to score a blinder... whatever happened to Fabregas..? Smile

I think that was the role he tried to fill today, get the ball and distribute it. He's got big boots to fill if he's a possible Bulman replacement further down the line.

If we need another midfielder then I would rather someone like Wills rather than spend all our money on Pack and have nothing left for a forward.

For a holding player my choice would be Mike Jones, followed by Fadz.

I thought Wills was quite good, certainly didn't look out of his depth so think he could play a role.

Didn't see the Brighton game due to work and was worried about what I had read about Hurst so was more than surprised to see a really decent player today. Hopefully we'll back him and give time to settle in proper but he reminded me of Howell but more accomplished.

Holloway got no more stick than any other manager just he appears to have the least sense of humour I've seen from a manager. I know we didn't roll over for them but he was only getting the old "have them in tomorrow" routine and he was shouting F, off back then after the game one of the stewards called Paul down for it so he obviously whined a bit. Thinks he'll have a lot more whining to do before the end of the season.

Fair play to their fans applauding the last goal as it was a class lob and finish.

I've heard Paul has been banned by the Carters, and the Carters apologised to Mr Holloway. I really did think Hollolway would react with classic comeback but he was a total *beep*.
