The result doesn't matter but not scoring is a bit of a worry.

I did think that at times during last season we did not get players into the box. We had the same issue against Millwall. Not scoring against a team from the Conference South indicates we may be having the same problem.

Let's wait for a report from someone who was there though.

Was it? Only 7 members of the first team squad started the game, 2 of whom were coming back from injury. All seven were subbed at half-time.

Seems like a fair result for our youngsters/trialists against a Conference South side.

All of the 1st teamers who played last night looked comfortable bar a couple of defensive lapses which may have led to goals for Whitehawk were it not for Paul Jones.

Of the youngsters / triallists none of them stood out for me apart from Adekunle who again demonstrated great pace but not a finishing product to match. He certainly has promise though.

We started with Melville from the youth team last season and Fawodo Tope (a triallist formerly of Aldershot) up front. Both struggled to get into the game and looked a bit lightweight though Tope did come closest to scoring forcing a good save from their keeper with about 10 to go.

We generally looked a bit toothless going forward.

The result is not important but our lack of cutting edge in the final third is a bit worrying.

Man of the match for me was probably Josh Simpson who played his usual game last night, kept his passes simple, burst forward when he had the chance and looked a class apart
