Posted 05 Feb 2013 11:47re: PITCH INSPECTION AT 1PMjust had a txt from john garrett he says the undersoil heating is fine but the heavy rain yesterday plus the snow today has made the pitch even more of a mess than usual, the football league wanted a 4 o`clock inspection but the club asked for one at 1 o`clock to help travelling fans

all the staff are in and prepared for a match to take place lets just hope the prima donna players are ready too

But the forecast for this afternoon/evening is for more rain/sleet/snow, I just hope they take that into account now and not wait until we get there!
Maybe SUFC have done this to cover themselves when the 4pm inspection requested by the FL calls the game off, saying well it was playable at 1pm?

Mick, Not that I am going but I have a workmate that lives 5 minutes from Brammel lane and is working from home today.
He tells me on messenger its nice but cold at the moment, but they have had some snow flurries this morning and are expecting a sleet and snow later. He reckons it will be on but the pitch will be a joke.

That may be the trouble with it being nice at the moment just as the forecast says, whereas last Tuesday it was raining all the time, even if not heavy. I suspect we will get there just as the referee calls it off, but then I am a pessimist! (any local non league game on up there!)

CTFC have just tweeted saying the match is OFF due to a waterlogged pitch - another fixture to add to the backlog then! Sad

Relieved we didnt have a wasted trip though, and Sheffield in June will be much nicer? Very Happy

And maybe Fadz will be fit to play against his old club (and his brother?)

It's all over twitter now, including a photo. I don't know how to get Twitter photo links on here so I'll leave it to the experts.

Well done to Sheffield United in calling the game off in good time.
I am only i hour away. No snow and plenty of sunshine. Big dissapointment.
