Quality signing, the only player we struggled to deal with on boxing day. Has a lot of pace and skins people like Howell did in the conference Smile

Played at RB against us and looked good, but played at LB against Walsall in the TV game and was taken apart.

Smart move to go for a 6 month deal I would say.

Why a 6 month deal? That'll take him up to July 22, a few months after our play off final.

The "6 months" in the tweet has changed to "until the end of the season" in the article on the website.

Can we all just calm down a bit?

Makes me cringe when fans declare a player a world beater because he's put in one good performance against their club.

We're so good at it on this forum.

Chris Lewington - Dagenham keeper who played a blinder at Broadfield. "The guy's like Gordon Banks - sign him up!".

Err, still at Dagenham.

Scott Bevan - Torquay keeper who saved two pens against us in the FA Cup game. "The guy's the best keeper outside the Championship - sign him up!".

Now at, err, Bristol Rovers... bottom of the Football League.

Re. Dumbuya, he was a free agent until Pompey picked him up and was still playing non-league football with Potters Bar three years ago. Couldn't get a game at Doncaster last year either.

Perspective please...

An example from the Pompey forum:

Quote:
Have to disagree about Dumbuya. Couldn't defend for his life and often his runs forward amounted to nothing. He would occasionally have the odd game where he looked outstanding but they were few and far between.

Basically, he was a very poor man's Glen Johnson and that sums our situation up perfectly.

That was only one half of the discussion though with the first poster extolling his virtues?
Longish blog post on this link from his time at Doncaster maybe gives a bit of an insight.

He was excellent against us on boxing day

He was like a poor man's Roberto Carlos Very Happy

I just hope he continues to play that way.
