Just wondering, with Brighton v Newcastle confirmed as taking place on Saturday 5th January, is there any chance our game could be moved to the Friday/Sunday for policing reasons?

Usually Brighton and Crawley Town home games don't get played on the same day, hence the question.

Usually?

Never been an issue before. Mind you we haven't been in the league that long .... Laughing Wink

Can't see a 5,800 crowd in Crawley making much difference. If we got that many.

When I say usually, I mean since we've been in the Football League, most of our home games have coincided with Brighton's away games, and vice versa.

I asked Sgt Taylor earlier and he said there would be sufficient resource available to cover both games.

The club have since announced the game will be played at 3pm on Saturday 5th January.

I hope this answer comes across as sincere and not sarcastic. Cool

I'm also pleased to hear that both games can be accommodated on the same day especially as London was able to host: West Ham vs Chelsea, Arsenal vs Swansea, OPR vs Aston Villa, Fulham vs Spurs, Millwall vs Charlton, Palace vs Brighton as well as the rugby international against New Zealand last Saturday. Ours should be a cake walk to police in comparison!!

Sensible from a policing point of view but a bugger if we want to attract the Brighton leaning Crawley fans and neutrals?
